Would you recommend the claw covers for cats? Soft claws I think they are called?
Has anyone ever used the soft claws or any other claw covers for kittens? Do they work? About how long do they stay on? Any input would be appreciated before I spend the money! Thank you in advance:)

I used them and they worked till I used to much glue and my cats got bad rashes. They would stay on for about a month and some would fall off. You can not let your cat out because it can not defend itself from predators. I got a new kitten and he started clawing this foam exercise board and my older cat now uses it. I do not mind because it is better then them using a couch. Get a foam board or a scratching post. If they try to claw the furniture get a squirt bottle or squirt gun.
We had them for our cat for a while…while they did cut down on the scratching, we noticed that when his claws would grow out and shed (as they typically do) sometimes the claw covers would get stuck on his paws and become painful for him. There were other times when he’d get his toys stuck between the cover and his claw somehow and it would hurt him.
We ended up not using them for a while. We now have a 1 year old, who likes to "play" with the cat A LOT. We’re thinking about either trying them again, or (as a last resort) having him de-clawed…not sure what to do.
Good luck with these. I think they’re worth a try.
Some people love Soft Paws, but I would only use them as a last resort. They prevent a cat from getting the exercise that scratching provides. You could use them as a temporary training device, but nail-trimming (cut off the sharp hook of the claw – don’t cut too short or you will cut the vein-see first link below for good advice and instructions) keeps the claws from being destructive. It is good to get your kitten used to having the paws handled for nail trimming at a young age so that he/she gets used to it, Cats benefit from scratching on an appropriate surface. If you don’t already have one, purchase a tall, sturdy scratching post and a cardboard scratch pad. Can you trim the kitten’s nails? You can buy cat nail scissors at pet supply stores. I’ll provide some links below to show you how to trim the nails and other good advice on nail management. Don’t even consider declawing. It is a partial amputation of the toes which can result in biting and litter box avoidance, as well as extreme pain.
I haven’t tried them, however, they sound too good to be true. I would think the kitties would pull them off with their teeth. My kitties chew on their claws alot. Not too sure ingesting them would be healthy.
Don’t bother with them. I bought them for my cats. They scratch up my furniture and rip up my rugs and I wanted to put a stop to that. I found those claw covers all over the house. They didn’t stay on and they were a pain to put on the cats.
To be honest I’ve never used them, but I have to say its worth a try. From what I’ve read some cats don’t mind them at all and they can last for up to six weeks.
They are called soft paws. http://www.softpaws.com
Please, please don’t declaw your cat ok, declawing should actually be called de-toeing. It is ten radical amputations of the cats toes down to the first knuckle. The vet takes the claw, bone, tendons and ligaments, fur, muscle and sometimes part of the pad.
It is a completely cruel and barbaric mutilation of a cat.
Trim their claws every two or three weeks (it only takes five minutes per cat because you usually don’t have to touch the back claws)
Also get a nice big cat perch (I have heard that many cats prefer sissal). And teach the cats to scratch only that. (my cats have three and don’t touch my furniture, not that it matters because I refuse to every declaw them). It helps to have several cat perches so there is one in each of the cats favorite rooms and there is always something acceptable for the cat to scratch nearby.
Good luck
