Just keep going outside periodically and call his name. Go to where he likes to go whenever he gets and call his name. Put signs around the neighborhood and ask other neighbors if they mave have seen him. I hope you find him!

OOPS, so sorry, thought I was in the dogs section but landed in the cat section by mistake. My bad. LOL

Probably should’ve asked this in the cat section, but cats are pretty smart and more often than not find their way back home.

We once had neighbors move in and their cat wandered right into my yard the next day, at which point my dogs chased/scared him big time. He ran off and never came back. But I don’t think he considered that his ‘home’ yet so probably not relevant.

If he was unhappy in his home then he won’t come back. He just wants to explore the world man, most cats definitely come back, my cat use to leave for mating then come back. If he doesn’t get hurt out there in the wild, then he should most likely come home. If he doesn’t, it will hurt but it all happens for a reason and it’ll get better.

well it all depends on how long u hav had the cat and if u wer mean to it …but if u hav had it for 2 years then it will more than likely return,unless it gets killed (sorry to bum you out)

Chances are pretty good the cat will return..

I would keep looking & keep calling his name, maybe take some tuna fish or salmon out and see if he can smell it.. and if he can–he should come running home!

Well I can’t answer that. Right now all you gotta do is post lost signs and pray that he will come back. Right now since he has never been outside right now honestly I think he only has a 25% chance of returning home.

Probably high chances. If the cat liked your family, he will most likely return. Cats are usually very devoted,
For example, my dad had a siamese and his parents didn’t want him. They dropped him about 3 hours away. The cat found his way back home!

That’s the thing with animals, they’re unpredictable. We can’t read their little minds. The best thing you can do is be proactive. Take action, rather than just hoping he does it himself. I would call the shelter every day to see if they have found him or if anyone has turned him in. I would also check around all the neighbors to see if anyone has seen him recently. Put up signs and hope for the best. I had an outdoor cat that came back on a regular basis until he found something better. Then he came back to say good bye and I never saw him again. Good luck and I hope you find him. I know how I would feel if my Pumpkin got outside.

as long as he doesn’t get killed, he’ll return eventually. Cats have a very good sense of direction. Once the hunger pangs get to him, he’ll come home. If you live in a relatively quiet neighborhood, away from heavy traffic, he’ll be fine. Relax.

When the cat gets back, check him over thoroughly for signs that he was in a fight. Diseases like rabies and FIV can be contracted through fights. Then get him to the vet for that rabies shot and keep his immunizations up to date.
