Does your 1st cat know that they aren’t supposed to be sharing a litter box? Most cats use the same one the others in the house use. I cannot get my bangle cat ( never could) to use a litter box, he goes out the doggie door like the dogs do. When we had a litter box, he would get in and scratch all the litter out! What fun, but it saves on cleaning, etc… If you do not want them too, which I do not understand why you would want 2, you may need to put one in one room with their box etc… I would not do that, but the choice is yours.
She is trying to show the other cat that she is The Boss!
She is just marking her territory. I have two cats and they use the same litter box, you shouldn’t let it bother you though, cats will use the same litter box as other cats, the new cat will probably start to use the other litter box too.
I’ve never heard of anyone expecting cats to use their own separate litter boxes.. cats will use whichever one they feel like using. There are no owners of litter boxes when it comes to cats..they just use what they use..there is no training a cat to use just one. This is absolutely normal behavior..it would be abnormal if they only used their "own".
Yes, she is marking her territory..quite normal..
Well my cats (all six of them) have two litter boxes to share. So they all go in the one most clean or the closest. The fact that yours is using others litter boxes should not be that bad. It might be territorial but maybe it is better for them to use that box than their own.
maybe.. or it thinks you moved it? either way, is it a big deal?
Just let the cats use eachother’s boxes. That’s what cat’s do and it’s no big deal.
cuz she doesnt know what the crap shes doing. you need to spank he cat relly hard with ur pizza eating hand and then take her out for a nice seafood dinner. thats what i did for my cat. and it never acted up again.
It’s not a territorial thing unless she’s not covering her pee. Cat litter is cat litter to a cat… no matter where it is. I have 5 cats and one has his on litter box but all of them use it if I leave the door open… it’s just normal. We humans use other toilets besides our own do we not?
