seems he’s happy and healthy. a LOT, near every bird goes through this, and there are a few ways to get them out of this, but it can take awhile. depending on the relationship you two have, you can try these –
=if you have a strong relationship, you can try discipline. if and when he bites something he shouldnt, you cannn…
1 tell him NO. if you dont usually communicate with him verbally, this normally works. sound firm and loud, birds respond to loud noises. well not like screaming loud, just like you were irritated and put on a deep voice
2 you can push his head over a little from what it is he is trying to get at. dont go shoving around his head like a hockey puck, just push a little below his ear, not hard, just enough so he turns his head to face away from the object. you can also use this as a base sort of, like if you have to push his head three times repetitively, then take him off your shoulder or wherever he is, and put him somewhere he cant leave. like a timeout. put him on a tabletop or open floorspace, where he isnt comfortable. after awhile hell realize youre doing that because he keeps biting things, and hell stop soon enough.
=if you dont have the strongest relationship yet, try removing him from your shoulder or what he is biting. soon he will long for your shoulder, and appreciate it when he gets it. this will probably fix your problem, and strengthen your bond. remember to praise him when he does the right thing, a kiss on the head or a good ear-rub does the trick normally ^_^
sorry its so long ^^. i have a lot of birds, and i have had some budgie problems too. all of my b irds have gone through this, and well…. depending on how smart they are, they all got it at sometime. all of them stopped within 2 weeks no matter how i approached it. good luck n hope thisll help u n little oskey!
o yea n the talking thin, well try putting a mirror in his cage, if he does talk, then hell talk to that. if not, he might just be grinding his beak. if you dont want to try the mirror thing, or it doesnt work, then when you hear him say it, try to be out of sight, and say the same thing after he says it. that one worked with my whispering cockatiel. good lucky!
