Why is my adult cat eating her litter?
She doesn’t use the litter anymore but I found her munching away at it the other day. Then she was just lying in her basket for two days looking very out of sorts. Today I found vomit near her basket, mostly consisting of cat litter and a tiny amount of cat food. Why is she eating her litter and how do I stop her from doing this?

I would take her to the vet. She could have swallowed something that is stuck in her tummy, therefore she can’t eat, and she wont be able to poop.
The vet will be able to check her and tell if she has anything stuck in there.
If it’s hair ball, then give her some Vaseline on her paw, she will lick it, and it will help her pass the hairball (be it by poop or throw up)
The vet also has something in his office he can sell to you, i have it for my cat and he loves it. It;s like a get you give to them to eat, and it acts the same way as Vaseline.
I would say, again, take her to the vet for a better diagnosis.
Get her to the vet asap. This sounds like a sick cat.
cats eat things like grass sometimes. she maybe trying to get rid a big hair ball , thats my guess. Get her some hairball med to day.
Wow….by "litter" I thought you meant her offspring!
But your cat sounds really ill, take her to a vet ASAP
ew, you better visit the vet or otherwise she can eat all of her litter!
If your girl is mainly an indoor cat, she may need some roughage in her diet.
Cats have an unusual digestive traits due to the enormous quantities of hair/fur they swallow during grooming, They occasionally need to clear their digestive tract, and know instinctively that eating indigestible items, such as grass and litter, will help them to do this by inducing vomiting. Your cat may have a hairball / furball stuck in her intestine or stomach. This is just routine for most cats, she will vomit some clear or frothy liquid before/during the release of this furball, then you will eventually find the proud product and
boy will you be relieved!
If she doesn’t have access to green stuff at all, consider planting some Oat grass (also sold as cat grass) that she can eat instead.
If she has a cat flap, and from your question I assume she does, she may not need the tray any more, would it be prudent to take the tray away now?
Otherwise, she does perhaps need to see the vet and make sure you have all her symptoms ready for him
my cat who had felv was doing this before I took him to the vet to find out he was very sick please take him to the vet
