Why does our cat scratch at our door?
Our cat is a good cat and doesn’t really chew or scratch things but in the morning or sometimes at night he scratches at the carpet right in front of our bedroom or our roommates bedroom door. He’s started randomly scratching the carpet and we think he needs a scratch post but what about when he scratches at our bedroom doors? He can’t keep it up he’s ruining the carpet.

He wants what’s on the other side of the door. Get some cheap throw rugs to put down where he is scratching or get him declawed.
haha well he probably wants to roam about the rest of the house
Cats scratch at doors when they want OUT or to whats on the other side of that door. And sometimes they just want the door to be open. My cats demand my bedroom door be open at all times or they scratch at it and throw a fit.
Nothing is random. Everything has a reason. It means he is either hungry or wants to play. My cat wakes me up every morning around 5am to eat or play. I push him out of my room and shut the door. He sits and scratches the door and carpet, trying to fit his paws under the door. Usually means he wants attention or is hungry.
it want to go out or in my did it on window at back door or the front door give u some to think about one of my be for she die last year lear that when i would get up in the morning she stand at my bedroom door and bang it at the wall and i would get up and she would run but if i did not get up she would do it again.the one i have now found the only way to get me up in the night was to bang thing at the end of my bed.3 kittens 14 week old now try opening window and got it open last night but could not opening all the way mine them for s.p,c.a on they get them homes, just as well i live in a ground flat is it
Cats do that when they stretch, he’s probably trying to get you’re attention (he might be hungry) or he’s stretching.
I would get a scratching post.
Hi there, if your cat is scratching doors, that means that it wants to get to the other side of the door. (Just like someone knocking). If your cat is scratching the carpet, it’s best to but a scratch post before your cat does anymore damage.
Good luck, (:
