Why does my cat violently attack occasionally for no reason? Like when we are lying in bed, him at my feet?
Today I was laying in bed with my cat at my feet. My cat is a neutered male, about a year old. Suddenly, he jumped up, started crying, but angrily. He stalks over, cries again, then full out attacked me, claws and all. =( What can I do to stop this? Is he stressed out? Its not the first time it has happened.

My scars all winced when I read your question. My cat does the same thing. He bites my feet all the time. I think it happens when I’m not paying enough attention to him. Just make sure you cut his claws back so that he doesn’t do so much damage, and give him lots of pets! Also, try to get him some of those fake mice to let out some energy. My cats LOVE those things.
He’s just stalking his pray
Watch those toes!
I would take him to the vet. There maybe a problem. We had to put a cat to sleep because it would attack us and always try to go for the eyes. There was never any reason for the attack either. For peace of mind, I would seriously get him checked.
Well I am not a cat person myself ) : sorry, but I would just say that your cat wants you to be a little more playful with him, just a attention call if you know what I mean. If you just play with him a little more that usual then he should calm down a little, then the more strict way to do it is squirt him in the face with a squirt bottle full of water, this dosent hurt it just suprises him.
Good luck.
Its just a cat thing. Mine jumps halfway up the wall at a paint spot that he thinks is a bug – EVERY day, he still hasnt figured it out lol. and will also attack my feet if its dark in the room(he just sees something tasty moving in the dark) So keep some slippers on your feet at night, thats usually when they get in that crazy attacking mood, and if he sees a toe wiggle, your probably going to get attacked, its just his nature.Or get him one of those mice on a string and wear him out before you lay down.
he is just being a cat..
watch out – if you declaw it actually gets worse – they become biters…
No, he is playing.Young boy cats are as silly as young male teenagers. Get him some toys. When he attacks you, grab him and cuddle him to your chest while talking to him gently, to let him know that rought stuff is not on.
