I had a cat who used to take any of my jewelry I left out and hide it under the dresser…. I guess he liked the way it shined…*LOL*
He is collecting his favorite things so he can find them later.
He’s putting them away for future play. This certain plant appeals to him so that’s his new toy box. He may get bored with it or not.
Perhaps the cat just favors the plant and thinks of it as his "secret stash" or the cat could be seeking extra attention from you, maybe wanting a little more play time with his favorite person.
MY CAT ALWAYS DOES THIS TOO. THEY HIDE THEIR TOYS SO THEY KNOW WHERE THEY ARE THE NEXT TIME THEY WANT TO PLAY WITH THEM. THEY DONT WANT ANYONE OR ANYTHING ELSE PLAYING WITH THEM SO THEY HIDE IT. I THINK IT IS CUTE!
