she is a 2 yr. old (spayed) black cat. I keep her strictly indoors (not counting when I take her out to be brushed). when I take her outside on my back patio during the early summer she begins to pant after about 3 or 4 minutes. she lets her tongue hang out and you can kind of hear her panting. it’s not even hot outside either. the tempature is usually in the high 80′s when I take her out to brush her. maybe she’s used to the cool house and can’t deal with the outside "heat". I bring her outside to brush her becuase she is a medium haired cat who has fur that just flys everywhere when you brush her. I don’t want all the fur flying in my house. when I bring her back in the house she automatically stops panting. I don’t think she could ever handle it outside because the heat would get to her alot (I live in Dallas so the heat is horrible). she’s WAY to pampered. why do you believe she pants. I’m just curious. she’s a very sweet and very healthy little cat.
