Sounds like nerves. Both dogs and cats can undergo quite alot of stress when they experience change. Older animals don’t adjust as well, sometimes not at all. It may be that one of your other animals is picking on this new one. It’s all part of establishing their place in the pecking order. Keep her out of your bedroom for the time being and provide 2 litter boxes. Have her checked by a vet too as these things are sometimes physical in nature. Her change in food or simply her age may be bringing on physical issues that are behind this. Good luck.
When a cat messes where it shouldn’t it usually does it because either it:
* can’t find the litter box
* hates that type of litter
* does not like sharing the litter with other cats
* the litter box is dirty
* the cat is mad and punishing you.
I recommend changing the litter. If you can find out what type the cat used before try using the same kind. I would also recommend investing in Spotshot and spraying everywhere that the cat goes that you do not want them to. It neutralizes any odor and cleans the spot. There are other products that can be used safely on beds which contain a mixture of garlic oil and clove oil. As an added bonus that will keep vampires away.
If the cat continues after trying out the above I would consult a veterinarian. With older pets they sometimes develop bladder problems, though this is more common in male cats than female.
