Why does my cat keep licking my face so much ?

My year old cat Huey likes to crawl up my chest, sink his claws into my neck and lick my face like a dog does. He does this mostly in the morning as soon as I show any sign of waking up.

It’s because he loves you! The ultimate way cats show love for each other is by grooming each other….so he’s grooming you and letting you know you are part of his little cat tribe. My cat does the exact same thing and you can tell he just feels he is REALLY helping me out. I would just feel very loved and try to push him off you in the kindest way possible…lol.
To wake you up fully to give him fresh food and water.
Maybe your salty. I had a kitty who always licked my face after I cried.
Well my friends cat likes to lick my toes and it probebly because when you sweat it salty and they like salt or maybe your cat really, really likes you!
mabe its just something your cat does. my mom’s friend’s cat like sleep in front of my and sink its claws into my leg while stretching
mabey he’s hungry, feed him, and if not give him water or something to chew on
over night while you’re sleeping, you release many oils and sweat. i’m sure you’ve heard of this, but animals themselves do not sweat, only on the pads of their feet..so when they have the opportunity, they like to lick any part of your body that tastes salty
plus it could also be that your cat just loves you =]
I have a cat that does this too, but she mostly does it too my fingers (along with gnawing and chewing on them), occasionally she’ll lick my face. I think she does it for the same reason a dog would, to show affection.
Actually, licking you is one of the highest compliments paid by the cat kingdom. I have one cat that does it a lot and one that seldom does it.

Anytime a cat licks you, it’s the ultimate sign of affection, as cat’s aren’t "people lickers" so to speak. Also, my vet told me that they just like the taste of our skin sometimes. I have one who licks me constantly, almost to the point of annoying me, but then I look into his pretty eyes and can’t get mad. he’s just too sweet!
He wants you to get up! Get up! Come on, wake up!
