My kitty will come wake either me or my husband up, by meowing or biting our hands if her food bowl gets empty or if she wants attention will get on top of us at night and just cuddle. lol cats get into regular routines and most likely your pet will continue to do this to you. Happily he doesn't bother me. I will pet him a little and go back to sleep. Not always because they are hungry as we leave food in the bowl for them in case they want to eat.
