Why does my cat compulsively use her litter box since an accident?
My cat had normal litter box habits before she got hit by a car. During her recuperation and ever since, she goes in there 10 to 15 times a day and sometimes 3 times within 15 minutes. Very erratic habits. Sometimes she’ll just sit in there doing nothing for 15 or 20 minutes. It’s an enclosed litter box, and when she’s "done", she’ll sit in there and scratch at the inside of the box for up to 5 minutes. Very strange, and our vet has no explanation. Has anyone else out there had a similar experience?

I assume you have had her checked for a bladder infection. It sounds as though she feels the constant urge to pee. This happens to some people, too. It can be caused by a number of things — one being an infection.
My only helpful thought is to be glad that she is using the litter box and not going wherever she pleases!
On second thought, I guess I do have one helpful idea. Use a litter that quickly absorbs the odors. I also have a cat that spends a long time covering his urine when I use clay litters. When I switch to crystal litters, he finishes covering the deposit much sooner!
maybe the car hit the cats bladder or something. maybe it doesnt haft to do with the car at all. maybe its just a bladder disorder.
Keep getting more help cause im shure mine isnt the best.
Best of luck
Sounds as if the accident damaged her bladder; check with the Vet about this.
