What’s the best way to find your pet cat?

Please someone help me! I accidentally left my window open and my pet cat that I’ve had for 12 years ran away. I live on 40 wooded acres and I can’t find her. I need some good suggestions. I’ll try anything serious!

She will come home when she is ready. Thats the way cats are. But go ahead and ignore me and go yell yourself hoarse and worry yourself sick because thats what I do everytime one of mine goes out on a jaunt.
Try leaving fresh portions of her favorite food on the porch.
Call her name and walk your property. Put out food for her. Check your local animal shelter and put up posters along the road/neighborhood. Does she come for a toy? My cats come to the rattle of the laser pointer chain or toy mouse.
crack open a can of tunafish!
Hopefully she will come home on her own, they often do. Other than leaving out some treats–that might attract coons, or other animals, there is not much you can do.
Mine always show up on my doorstep as soon as I put posters up all over town.
Do everything, Leave out fresh food/water, put out posters with a reward on them that you can afford, and most of all just keep your eyes peeled.
-sorry you lost your cat
There are amazing stories of cats finding their way home over thousands of miles. The best thing I can tell you is put up fliers, ask around, and hope for the best.
yr wierd
housecats that usually make it outside by accident usually are afraid of all the new goings on around them, but being a cat their curiosity takes over, your kitty is in the vacinity and is exploring a new adventure, try calling him several times of day. chances are you wont see him for a while but he will eventually show up a little thinner and very hungry. he may even shy away from you for a couple of days but dont fret he will come around especially wheres there food.
