What toys can I leave to keep my cat entertained while I'm gone?

I’m going away for two weeks, and can’t take my cat with me. He’ll stay home, and a trustworthy neighbor will check on him and make sure he has food and water. His physical needs will be taken care of, but I’m worried that he’ll be bored. Does anyone have ideas for toys I can leave for him to play with while I’m gone?

A dozen mice!
Actually or cats used to get mad at us if we were gone for a few weeks. I find leaving the TV on makes them believe someone is around especially if you put it on a 24 hour cable news show.
What does he play with when you are there? Just leave those.
Cat nip mouse, or little rubber balls.

My cats LOVE playing with this toy that has a fzzy ball that’s attached to a carpet like thing. They sell them at PetCo and Petsmart.
I bought my cats a Backyard Aventures DVD. It’s about 20 bucks and has a bunch of chapters with birds, grasshoppers, fish, etc.. One of my cats does seem particularly fascinated with the hampster portion of the DVD. Even if they don’t watch it (my friends insist that cats don’t watch TV) the background nature noises may be of interest to the cat.
Also, I got this bird on a string that hangs from the doorway frame. The cats bat at it for hours. It has a "safety" break-away feature so that the cat does not hurt itself.
one of the things that has a suction cup on a wall and a spring attaching it to a toy. they’ll play for hours. they also like those cat condo things. i’ve seen a cat on one of those for a long time, but those are expensive.
Do not leave string toys for him. If he eats the string it could injure his intestines and end up being fatal for him. Make sure toys left for him cannot be swallowed.
Be sure you leave your neighbor the name/address of your vet and emergency pet hospital.
I have a lot of catnip toys for my cat, like the plush kind. I wouldn’t leave him anything plastic or stringy while you are gone. He also has two catnip mats he lays on.
My kitty likes to play with the tops that come off water bottles. She also likes a ball of foil rolled up into a ball. If you do this, do it real tight, so it doesn’t come loose in the kittys mouth. The cardboard from an empty toilet paper is fun to bat around. My kitty loves playing with her colar. She hates wearing it, so she carries it around the house. I have a fuzzy pink slipper she bats around. They like the top of those zip lock bags, the thick ones. Of course, always be sure that any toys you leave are safe. I have bought soooo many at the pet store. She seems to like the silly home made ones better. The foil I think is the biggest hit. She likes to have me throw them, she chases them and brings them back for me to throw again. At the end of the week there about 20 of them under the couch!!!!
