If you haven’t called animal control you should. If they won’t do anything about the problem ask them if the humane society would. Some rescue organizations place good smelling food in cages with trap doors. When a feral cat is caught they spay or neuter it and release it back where it was. However, with so many I wouldn’t bother with rescue organizations. In Italy people feed their feral cats but I don’t suppose you could get enough people to do it here. It would be darn expensive. If they were fed those cats wouldn’t be at all aggressive.
Before I retired my office fed a chow who was homeless and took up residence beside the office. We were surrounded by trees and grass so it had lots of places to hide. We actually had a schedule for the employees who wanted to contribute food to him and when we ran out of the hard food the next person on the list bought a huge bag plus we also fed him moist food as well. And of course we supplied him with fresh water 2x a day. Even though he wouldn’t come anywhere near us we thought of him as our pet and without any originality we named him Chow. Just a little story for you of no help whatsoever.
well, i used to buy a big bag of cat food at walmart and give them food every afternoon… i know sounds crazy but they start to like me after that… but i have only 20 outside of the house…
I would call the animal control and tell them about the cats they are probably multiplying. Especially if they are aggressive. I don’t know if you ever heard of the song "Cat Scratch Fever" but there is such a thing. I know a man that almost died from fever from a scratch on his big toe that his house cat gave him so be carefull.
Call you local SPCA or get a "Have-a-heart" trap and bait it with cat food. When you catch a cat take, trap, cat, and all to the animal shelter and start all over again…But do not attempt to pick up any stray/feral cat you could get very sick. from scratches.
