All those litters also stick to their long fur.

The VERY best litter for Persians - or any breed for that matter - is wood stove pellets. They're dust free, they totally remove the urine odor and absorb the moisture. If you dump the pan out when the pellets are about 1/2 broken down the pan dumps out completely dry. You can pick up 40 pound bags for about FOUR TO FIVE DOLLARS at Lowes, grocery stores in cooler months and year round at farm/feed stores.

It's the EXACT same compressed pine sawdust pellets as Feline Pine so anyone using that stop wasting your money! Nothing really kills poop odor plus I don't want my cats to end up with poopy paws so I scoop any poops out daily. With four cats and three litter boxes I dump the pans out after about a week or so. Since the litter's so cheap I don't mind changing it often.

Feline Pine, or the Fresh Step Crystals. The latter is ridiculously expensive but extremely powerful and not dusty at all. Its a great litter for the price. Feline Pine also has 0 dust, but isnt as effective at odor fighting. Persians are extremely sensitive cats, so you will need to work hard to keep it comfortable with whatever litter you get.

Dr. Elsey's also makes a Precious Cat Long Haired litter. Apparently it's formulated for long haired cats and is made of silica gel as opposed to clay. I haven't used it and don't know much about it beyond that it exists. I've been pleased with their Cat Attract and regular Precious Cat litter, so I would imagine it might be a decent product. I've seen it at Petsmart, but I'm not sure where else you might find it.

How about Yesterday's News? It is a pelleted product made up of newspaper. Our vets recommend it when they do declawing (don't even go there) or for cats with allergies to the dust of clay litter. We can buy it at WalMart now. There is that fancy litter box on TV that uses plastic pellets and washes itself and flushes down a drain. Can't remember the name and it is probably expensive - I notice they never give the price on TV.
