If he is going to stay inside DO NOT get his shots done. It is unnessary and causes cancer. My friend had to put her poor sweet girl down because she had cancer at the injection site. Im so glad to hear about you getting him micro chiped when you get him fixed. I did that for my dog and wish I had for my cats. Its not a pretty site when they are not under pain killers and getting it done. Congrats on your new kitty and enjoy your life with him!!!! -mel He will be fine. They are both female, fixed and declawed (i adopted them from the animal welfare league in Chicago Ridge this way). They have a Kitty condo, as well as their own room upstairs, and they love it. My cats are actually afraid to go outside, even if they wander by the open door. I also was against the thought of them going outside and bringing fleas into my home, and of course being declawed, i would never want them to be defenseless outdoors. It's just way too dangerous for them. Cats who go outside have a much shorter lifespan than indoor cats. In my case, in live in a very quiet village down a quite road so yes, my cats do go outdoors. Frankly, I can't imagine keeping them inside 24/7 -- they would go stir crazy.
