What do you need to breed purebread siamese kittens?
I would like to breed siamese cats. I know all about the sicknesses and diseases that can spread, I know all about kitten eating habbits, I know all about birth problems and how to handle them. But what I dont know is if you want to breed purebreed kittens do you need to take classes to determine if they are really purebread or something? If so how could i take one of there classes? Thank You!!!

Anyone can breed cats, but if you’re looking specifically to breed a purebred like Siamese, this book is a must:
A Feline Affair: A Guide to Raising and Breeding Purebred Cats (Hardcover) by Elaine Wenner Gilbertson
A breeder who has spent nearly 20 years raising champion and grand champion Himalayan cats, Gilbertson offers practical advice for the average cat owner (on selection, health, feeding, grooming, and behavior, for example) as well as a thorough explanation of breeding, birth, care of newborn kittens, and the kitten market–subjects that readers who want to breed purebred cats need to understand. Her book’s appendixes profile breeds and cat associations, list poisonous plants and suppliers of kitten starter kits, and provide samples of relevant documents: stud service, sale, and alteration agreements, pedigree, litter record, and gestation chart. Includes 50 black-and-white photographs and 18 drawings, a "Tips" section, a glossary and a bibliography.
It’s also a good idea to have a good veterinarian who you know and trust and who can be a lifesaver when it comes to recognizing problems, and just plain being there to advise you when you first start.
no classes really… your kittens should have come with papers to prove the blood line… so that is all you need, papers and a male and a female who are not in the same blood line.
No classes are needed. To insure they are purebred make sure you get cats that are registered. Then just register the kittens when they are born.
You could start by joining the novice breeders advice club and their email grouips.
You will need to join breed clubs for your chosen breed. You will need to obtain cats with pedigree registrations and have permission from their breeders to breed from them.
Yu will need to register your own cattery prefix and register the kittens you breed and provide the registrations and pedigrees to the new owners.
You should also show your cats so that you can get an honest appraisal from judges who will highlight the streengths and weaknesses in order for you to know what tpye of matings to pick. For example, if the judges say your cat’s eyes are too small or too deep set you will know to mate her to a male with larger eyes.
