A dilute tortie.
A tortoiseshell pattern is an allover pattern of the black and orange (like a Merle in a dog coat). Sometimes there is a white bib or paws.
The calico is a cat with splotches of black and orange on the body. Most of the coat is white.
A light calico cat. I don’t think there is a specific name.
I don’t think there is a specific name for it – probably pale calico would be about right.
Sounds lovely though.
A light calico is called a "Diliute Calico". Its like when the colors are lighter and seem almost like pastel.
Diluted or Muted calico. It’s my understanding that either term can be used.
My 6 month old kitten has white paws, legs and under body. Her back is a blue grey colour and she has patches of that peachy tan colour around her head (like a little headband!) and patches over her body. We have always known her to be a torti or tortishell kitten. We got her from the RSPCA. She was dumped when she was 2 weeks old and they told us she’s a very unique colour – yours sounds beautiful. Very lucky!
i never heard of a light calico i thought a calico was a calico no matter if it was light or considered dark.
we just love our calico she is 12 years old and is more light then she is dark but we love her for being so unique
