What cat breed possesses the following personality?

Most cats avoid strangers and aren’t much of lap cats, one of those cats is my favorite Egyptian Mau.
The only cat i know to be very social, loving and loyal is the Savannah but its illegal in NYC.
So what cat breed is warm, isn’t afraid of much things, playful, loyal and is a lap cat and doesn’t hide or hiss at strangers and other animals.

Ragdoll cats are the sweetest cats on earth. They are very friendly to other animals, and have great personalities.
an american short hair that was well cared for as a kitten and has been ‘socialized’ with other animals, people, and cats.
any tabby cat.
any cat can be turned into a ‘lap cat’ in the right environment. it all depends on how they are raised.

Well the persian cat I think would posses those guidelines, Its usually very calm, kinda lazy(so its a lap cat) and its ussually very good with people, I think it can be playful too-especialy the kittens.
The only thing that I can think of bad about him is that they have to be brushed often because of their fur.

I think it depends on the animal’s past, and the animal themselves. For example i adopted two cats from the SAVE foundation. Both are not pure breeds, and one of them behaves similar to a dog, comes when you call her, sleeps at the foot of the bed, follows you around, loves to play, and loves to be near you. She was the one from a good background. The other is very quiet, never meows, likes to be in a room with people but doesnt like attention, once she trusts you though she cuddles with you and follows you. She was found in a box in trenton with her whiskers cut off. neither of them hiss or scratch, ever. My family friend had a maincoon that recently died, he would hiss and scratch at strngers, but he loved his owner and would cuddle and follow him around. He recently adopted the same breed cat from a humine society and she is very social, loves attention, loves to play, and still loves to cuddle with her owner. Either way if you want to adopt a cat i would go to the humaine society or SAVE and give a poor kitty a home and save it from being put to sleep.
All cats are individuals, and being of a specific breed is no guarantee of personality. If those traits are the ones you feel are most important to you, then you best bet is to go to a shelter and adopt an *adult* cat – with an adult, the personalities have established themselves. You can find a cat that is all that, and more. But you do need to look at the adults, and pass by the kittens. Kittens have a personality, but they don’t reveal themselves. No matter how you ‘raise’ them, some kittens will grow up to be fearful or not like strangers, and may or may not want to sit on your lap. I’m sure the only issue will be ‘which cat do I pick?’ rather than finding one that has the personality that you want. Happy hunting
I have two raggedyass DSH cats that present with all those traits. It’s not the breed of cat that determines it’s disposition – it’s how it is received and treated in the owners home.
I should, however, qualify that by stating that some cats are just snotty noobs; but that isn’t breed specific.
Depends on how the kittens are raise and what they are exposed to. Most of your shorthair breeds or domestic mixes would fit that description.
