what can I do about feeding feral cats in my neighborhood while on a low budget?
I just don’t want them to starve. Are there any places or organizations that could help me with aquiring food for free or dirt cheap?

please don’t feed! unless you can also catch and spay or neuter. cats live very well living off the land. but unless your willing to fix them you will be contributing to overpopulation. sorry but i had to say it. where i live a lady did just that and the wild cats in the neighborhood grew to over 100 in less than 2 years
Check with any rescue groups in your area. Often, they will work with you in spay/neuter/release to stabilize the feral population. They can often obtain low cost food, many times through donations, and can help you help the cats.
If you don’t know of any rescue groups, check with PetFinder to see who has cats for adoption in your area, and then make some calls. Often, adoption centers at PetSmart stores are run by rescue groups.
I agree with cat lover.
The cats are going to be way better off in the long run if they arent able to breed- and make more kittens that need to be fed and cared for.
You should talk to your local rescue shelter, and see if there is anything that they can do to help you, even if it means catching the cats and having them euthenased- it is a much better way to go than dying of starvation and disease.
I agree with Cat lover. Try to find a shelter or something. But since these cats are feral, they probably can fend for themselves, so don’t get too worked up.
Go to a pet store, and buy two female mice. Go to another pet store, and buy two male mice.
You need two of each to get genetic diversity, the off spring will not be inbred. If you buy all the mice in the same shop, the store people may suspect that you are using the mice as "feeders" and some squeamish store staff may refuse to sell them to you. If you go to different shops, you avoid questions.
Breed the mice untill you ge a couple dozen mice, keep them all untill they are breeding age, and turn them all lose some dark night in the neighborhood.
The feral cats will have plenty to eat, and mice are very easy for cats to catch.
Don’t!! I know it is sad to see a cat starve but I started feeding neighbors cats since it was cold outside and I was heartbroken. Before you knew it they would cry each night for more food. I ended up going through large bags of cat food each week. It cost me a fortune. I would call a no kill shelter to see if they can help out. Also if you know the owners be bold and tell them to bring them inside. I know it is hard to see them suffer but before you know it you won’t have a couple you will invite rats, wild animals, birds you name it. It turns out to be a huge problem. Plus if those cats are not fixed you will have kittens galore.
