Training method to keep my cat from climbing the Christmas tree -_-?

My kitten won’t stop climbing the Christmas tree, it’s annoying. I know, he’s young and adventurous and it’s normal, but I kinda don’t want to get up every time he decides he wants to climb up it.. which is literally all the time.
Is there any good method to make him stop? I’d tried bapping at his nose, but I don’t want to do anything harsher than that.

Keep a small spray bottle full of water near the tree. If your cats still go after the tree, a light spritz of water on their back and a stern "NO!" will get the point across.
Cats naturally hate the scent of oranges, so keep orange peels under the tree to repel your cat.
If it’s a plastic tree, a small amount of Citronella oil shaken into a bottle of water and misted on to the tree makes it smell unpleasant to the cat but fresh and citrus-like to you.
For small kittens, wrap tinfoil around the trunk. They don’t like putting their nails into it and it will keep them from climbing the tree.
Consider getting Scotch Pines. They have sharp needles to repel cats.
Spray some pinecones with Citronella and pile them around the base of the tree. Cats do not walk on pine cones! (Pine cones also have the same effect in the base of your houseplants.)
Spray the bottom limbs with Tabasco sauce to keep them from chewing the bottom branches. They wince and run away!
Consider getting the baby fences. This way, your cats can’t go near the tree, but they can still explore the house.
Make sure that your kittens are way from the presents so that they don’t rip off the gift wrap.
Keep thing
Don’t do the nose bap…not good phychology. (They think you are playing or fighting them)
The spray bottle with water is more humane and works better, although some argue is negative for the cat. But I have used it on all my cats, and it works and they love me.
When the cat goes NEAR the tree, spray him on the body from a distance. It’s good to get the streaming type of bottle. I got mine at a gardening store.
Lol – Thats my favorite part of Christmas…
