My neighbor’s male cat attacked my boyfriend for the fourth time in a week. This time the cat left several scratches and a puncture wound on my bf’s hand. I looked at my bf’s hand this morning and noticed swelling on the back of his hand where the puncture is.

Shouldn’t he get his hand checked out by a doctor asap?

Our older male cat is about ten years old. He loves tuna.

Both he and our female cat (she is about seven) love tuna. But they are very very spoiled and picky. Sometimes, the male cat will not eat his dry Meow Mix food at all. The female usually does, however.

So how can we encourage the male cat to eat the dry food again? He only likes to eat the tuna!

Also, I have heard that Tuna is bad for the kitty cats. Is this true?

I have a feral cat with kittens under my porch?

This is a sad story. I discovered that I had a feral mother cat with four kittens living under my front porch. The kittens, when I first saw them, were very tiny and too young to be taken from their mother. I called my local Humane Society who put me on a waiting list to bring the kittens in (at a cost of 0 to me) when they were a few weeks older. I called them, and they told me they had no room. The next day, a male cat was attacking them, I threw water and he left. Later that night, the mother was on the porch nursing her four kittnes. The next day there were only three kittens. I again called the Humane Society, still no room. It is now a week later, and the mother has left with two of the kittens, leaving one behind. This poor kitten is VERY skittish and terrified. Is it old enough to take care of itself? I am very worried about it. I have a cat of my own and two small children, so I cant take the kitten in, and I don’t know anyone who wants it. ADVISE PLEASE! I am heartbroken
Will the mother come back?

How can I figure out what my cat wants?

I have a roughly two-year-old fixed male cat. He was a stray kitten but was taken to a shelter very young; around six months he went to a foster home, and I adopted him about a year ago. He’s always been energetic, and occasionally he gets a bit nippy or busts out the claws, but on the whole he’s well-behaved, and I have a small spray bottle I use to give him a little spritz when he gets out of hand (usually just holding it up is enough to get him to stop whatever mischief he’s up to). The past week, though, he’s seemed cranky. When I come home, everything’s more or less where I left it, but when I’m at home, he’s always getting into things—pawing books off the shelves, picking up little things like coins or paper clips and stashing them places, digging through my bags, scattering papers … on and on. I can sometimes get his attention with a feather boa toy, and occasionally he’ll snuggle up to me for some petting, but so much more of his time is spent wreaking havoc. Since he only behaves like this when I’m home (he makes enough of a mess that it’s pretty obvious) I’m guessing he’s trying to get my attention for SOME reason, but I can’t figure out what. There haven’t been any real upheavals (not that I can think of); he has food and water and a clean litter box; he doesn’t show any symptoms of health problems. I’ve made him little hideouts and tunnels, given him boxes to explore, tried to play with him or pet him/scratch his ears/etc., but none of it seems to be what he wants.

Any theories? Things I should try? Any suggestions would be much appreciated—I’m really not sure what to do for him at this point.
He does like chasing toy mice (and other similar-sized objects—we play a lot of fetch). I tried a laser pointer but he ignores the dot and just bites the pointer. The paper bag is a cool idea—I’ll give that a try.

Our older female cat used to use the box, but since we adopted a young male cat, it likes to pee in other places…though the cat still uses the box for…solid waste. This cat did have a urinary infection for awhile, but that problem has been resolved with antibiotics. Question is, how do we train her to use the box again? We have 3 cat boxes in various places in the house, and we do a pretty good job of keeping them clean. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a seven year old male cat named T.J. who is used to being the King of the household. But a bit ago I found a stray kitten in the middle of the street starving and very weak. I couldn’t just leave him so I decided to take him in.

Alex, the kitten, is very affectionate and trys to approach T.J. and rub up against him, but T.J. just hisses and runs away. Its especially bad at night because Alex has recently gotten into the habit of sleeping with me in T.J.’s spot. I’ve tried getting Alex to stay in the kitchen at night and sleep in his own bed but he climbs over the child proof gate and follows me everywhere.

I live in a small apartment so its not easy to give T.J. his own space especially since my roommate has a fifteen year old dog –who acually likes the new kitten and has already accepted him. (T.J. basicly grew up with this dog.)

I know its too soon for them to get along, but I would like some tips on how to get T.J. to gradually accept Alex.
Thanks.

I just moved back into my parents house with my new kitten, she is 5 months old and not spayed yet. My parents already have a 4 year old male cat who is fixed. My kitten goes up to the cat and hisses and growls and tries to scratch the adult cat but the adult cat doesnt do anything. How can i get my cat to calm down and now hiss at the adult cat anymore?
