I’ve got a 1-year-old neutered male cat that "talks" at various times of day. I know some cats howl, but this is really more like talking. For instance, if his "sister" cat doesn’t want to play with him, he’ll vocalize quite loudly a ‘mow-wah-worw-mow-mahw’ which will sound, for all the world, like a toddler. This is often accompanied by a crazed, sprinted circuit around our house. We often go to him to give him a bit of attention, but during these ‘episodes’ he often perches up too high for us to reach and continues to talk. Most of the time he is the most loving, cuddly cat- it’s just that every now and then he goes a bit odd. Does anyone know why they do this, and what can be done to curb this behaviour?
I don’t believe he has any Siamese or Persian in him (though I’m not sure- he’s a rescue cat and very characteristically DSH), and he is quiet normally most of the time. I don’t really feel a need to change his behaviour, I more want to understand it and try to alleviate any discomfort he feels that may cause these vocalizations. At first I wondered if it might be toileting-related, but it doesn’t seem to be related. Thanks for all of your input so far!

I have a 6 month old male kitten and he started humping my leg while I was in bed so I bought him a toy to hump. He is fixed so is this normal for a male cat to do?

My male cat is 6 years old and has been nonstop licking his butt area for about 2 weeks. He has no other health problems that I know of and he continues to act normally otherwise. I made him a vet appointment but that is not for another 2 weeks. Any ideas?

I have a ginger male cat, he is almost 2years old, indoors, and seems content, But I was wondering if there is a way or ways to make him live for a longer time then 10/15 years, I have seen some cats who are 22! Thanks

My 4 1/2 year old fixed male cat has just started licking the area he pees from and then hissing or making a moaning sound. Why is he doing this all of a sudden? Is it the start of a bladder infection? Or should I just leave the poor thing alone. lol

My family has two cats and last Christmas, we bought them a cat tower. One cat is a large male and another is a small female, a year older than the male. Both have the same mother. The female cat likes the smaller, top "bed", since it is suited for her size. However, the male cat almost always jumps up to the top where she is sleeping, bites her neck, though he does not hurt her, and then forces her off. Why does he do this and is there a way we can stop this from happening? Thank you and please help.

I have a problem with my 3 1/2 year old male cat getting into fights.He doesn’t usually have battle wounds, but has had 2 vet visits due to the same thing, bite wounds. Once he had to have the site lanced while under sedation. The other because the wounds did not heal due to this licking.
*He has been neutered. He has had all of his shots and has tested negative for flv and fiv. He got the feline leukemia vaccine.
*He is a bit territorial, but I noticed it was only after we moved, hence, new animals, etc. The fighting has stopped, but he has the leftovers still. He was in a fight where he had 4 bites. Now, reduced to one. This was actually rather small initially, but he kept licking it until he ate (gross) the scab off-now has 2 divits in the sore because of the angle he has to turn his head.
*The vet suggests cleaning, antibiotic ointment and if that doesn’t work to get a daytrol rx. The cone doesn’t work. Anything out there OTC I can use that tastes bad, but is safe to use?

Three days ago my 1.5 year old male cat was locked outside over night. No one brought him in until I got up for work the next day and couldnt find him inside. He was in his "cat tower" I bought at petco and left on the patio for him.

Anyway, I noticed that now he can barely meow. Its all raspy and barely audible when it used to be loud. I think he lost his voice? Is this possible? Was he meowing at the door all night and no one heard him? Maybe that’s how he lost his voice? Any help or advice on what to do will be appreciated.

**He used to be an indoor cat until about 6 months ago and now he goes in an out often.

She is five years old, and we already have a male cat who is about 3. We cannot allow them to be in the same room at night, therefore, my new cat now sleeps in my room for the time being. Problem is, she’s shedding like crazy and she’s also very attention-starved and she kept me awake last night! If I keep her in a cage, she will cry. Are there any home-remedies that would help keep her off my bed?

Princess…our male cat doesn’t like being cooped up. He’d scratch at the door all night long, so that wouldn’t work. Good suggestion, though!

My cat pepper died on the 9th but since them my male cat has been going up and down in the cat tower like he is playing with her.
He doesn’t do it all day but he does do it everyday. He also plays with her pipe cleaner toy.

I think he is playing with her.
My male cat never played with toys.

I do too I think he plays with her too! That means she is here with me all day watching me! Such a good kitty! I miss her!
I’m a believer too! My cat Tootie when she died I told her to bring birds and she did 2 doves had babies in a basket on our porch.

My dog Roxie I told her to come in my dreams and she has!
