My Cat Meows at the Walls: Why?

This is only when I am trying to sleep, usually in the early morning hours. He will climb on me and stand on the bedpost with his paws against the wall. Then he will meow at a spot high on the wall, close to the ceiling. This morning he was standing on my printer which is on my bedroom P2 tower on the desk I have back there. He was meowing at the a/c vent. At least this is what it looked like.

To those who believe they understand cat behavior I am wondering what your take on this is. What is he thinking?
There are no bugs/vermin in my apartment. I can tell you this with certainty. Also, I don’t believe in ghosts. He is nuetered and has plenty of food. If he finished his bowl during the night he will meow at my face, not the wall. When he wants to go outside he will sit on the windowsils and meow and his tail will bat around and make the vertical blinks clank around. The walls he props himself on don’t even go outside and are both inner walls. Closet then living room near my bed and the other side of the wall near my desk is the kitchen. Very confusing behavior.

Where to find cat tower for large/fat cat?

I have two babies (Cats) and one is regular-sized and my other one is a big girl. We have a cathedral ceiling living room and would like to look into getting a tower prefer not more than 0. I keep finding cat towers that look like for regular-sized cats. Please do not tell me to put her on a diet either (No hurtful, rude, etc. comments tolerated!) Thanks! :)

My cat has a squashy ball, a fluffy mouse that used to move and another ball that is actually for a bird with a little bell inside. He never plays with these they are usually left on the living room floor. But if another of our cats touches them he runs over, grabs them, takes them back to his nest and sits on them. Almost like a little kid grabbing back his toys and saying MINE! Why does he do this?

Conflicted on my cat…advice?

I adopted a stray that was wandering around in my grandparents’ yard. He has all shots, is neutered, etc. etc. etc. However, we also have a small dog that uses a doggie door built into the living room wall, and Gizmo (my cat) will try and escape through it every chance he gets. The doggie door leads outside to a small fenced-in area where our dog does her business, and Gizmo will jump the fence and run around the yard.

To solve this problem, I keep him in my room and his stuff is in my walk-in closet that I never use. He has his litter box, food, water, and I just recently bought him some toys. He gets to wander freely between the two rooms and has a window perch in my bedroom so he can look out the window if he wants to.

However, I have people getting on me about keeping him in 2 rooms of the house because "he needs to go out or he is going to get mean." If I am playing with him, feeding him, regularly scooping his box, etc. are they still right? He loves being outside, but I don’t have money right now to get him a leash, right now it’s necessities (food/litter) until my birthday in August.

Would he "get mean" being cooped up in here another month and a half, roughly? Could I compromise by carrying him outside when I get the mail? I don’t want him to be mean, but I don’t trust him to not go out the doggie door, and I know if he’s not in my room or my walk-in closet, he will go out through the doggie door and be unattended outside. I have heard this isn’t advisable.

Am I being a mean cat owner, too overprotective?

Catnip heaven, Does your cat go nuts with cat nip?

This morning I got the cat nip out for my cats tower.
I forgot the bag and left it on the floor.
I came back in to see my cat had tore it open and shreded the bag.

He is running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

He is up the pole that goes to our ceiling and rolling down it. I am not sure how he is not falling to the floor. And i cant find my camera. Ugggg!

And then he just ran to my bedroom looked at me and ran in a circle back to the living room. He found his toy mouse and is growling at it. He is a nut.

What do your cats do when they have cat nip?

We recently got a new kitten and moved into a new house. So that explains the why he is doing this. We have 2 cat boxes that are cleaned regularly in my upstairs bathroom with doesn’t get much traffic. My older cat has decided to periodically poop downstairs in the living room in the same place. What can I do to stop this?

My family adopted this stray cat (a couple of years ago), and after we had him for a little while, he started peeing on our furniture/carpet. We first showed him the litter box, just to make sure he knew it was there and what it was for, that didn’t help. We got him neutered, that helped for a while, but he started peeing again. We tried rubbing his nose in it and yelling at him when we would catch him, that didn’t help.

Recently he has been peeing on the same thing over and over again, an odomen (sp?) in the living room. I have been researching about how to get him stop, and I really believe it is behavioral, but i don’t think he is being territorial with this surface because he doesn’t sleep on it at all and he is very capable of accessing it. He usually sleeps on my mom’s side of the couch or in the cat tower next to it, but he never pees on those. BTW I don’t think the problem is physiological, but it is not completely ruled out.

I don’t think he pees on it to say he is mad at anyone because nobody ever uses it, so he can’t associate it with anyone in the house. The litter box is cleaned constantly as two other cats live in the house, we have two boxes. I also don’t think he is trying to say anything to other cats either, i think he already thinks he is the dominate one in the house.

What do I do? I am sick of the smell. I find it very embarrassing and don’t let people come into my home because I don’t want them to smell my naughty cat. I want to get rid of him, but my mom loves him, and she is the only one he likes. I won’t get rid of him if he stops, but i just can’t take his piss anymore. All these years of smelling cat pee is freaking disgusting.

Question about Cat Peeing on Furniture?

My husband and I own a domestic shorthair tabby who is about a year and a half old. We also own two dogs. All of our pets are female. They all get along wonderfully and our cat often tries to play with the dogs. The cat and our one dog are actually really close and they will lay together and sleep together in their favorite chair in the living room and on the bed in our bedroom. The other dog is older and isn’t mean to her, but just keeps to herself more. We recently moved into a new home and have been here since August. All of our pets have adjusted really well. However now I’m starting to have second thoughts about the cat. We have a sectional sofa in a "sitting room" in a part of the house we do not use that often, near where her litter box is. Almost every day or every other day we are finding little puddles of pee on the sofa. The puddles are too small to be from our dogs, so we know it is the cat. We have a litter box which is cleaned on a daily basis so I know that is not the issue. We have a huge cat tower for her to play on and we cuddle with her and give her lots of attention on a daily basis. It is really baffling us as to why she would pee on the sofa like this!! We don’t really have a lot of toys for her, so the only thing I can think of is that she is either bored and we should get her more toys, or, maybe she is lonely and would like another cat in the house? I mean, we do have 2 dogs, and she is by herself, the only cat in the house. She tries to play with the dogs but that is not the same as playing with another cat. Or is it possible that she still just has not adjusted from moving into this new house? She never used to do this in the old house. What do you all think? Please help!!

My indoor cat has been peeing on the floor and my daughter’s toys when ever the neighbor’s cat besides to the mulch under my living room window as a litter box. This is a huge problem because my daughter is an infant and is crawling on the floor and puts her toys in her mouth. I cant seem to chase this other cat away. The other cats don’t bother her and she never did this until this one cat moved into the neighborhood I’m guessing shes female like my cat and thats why she feels threaten by her. Does anyone know what I should do?
