I am buying this for my foster cats and yes I am putting some of my other cats unused expensive beds. The fosters are a kitten and 2 adult cats, they are only staying for less then a month, so I really don’t need it after they leave (I am giving it to the shelter after). So does anyone know any websites that sell cheap cat supplies? Like beds, litter boxes, food bowls, toys, etc.

Ferret care, do I have everything?

I have had lots of small pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and hamsters, but in a few years when I don’t have more than 1 other pet I am considering getting a ferret. i have been researching them a lot and so this is the list of things I need that I came up with. I won’t be getting a ferret for at least 2 years, maybe more, depending on how long I have my rabbit/guinea pigs, but I want to get as much information as possible. I will be getting Ferrets for Dummies as I heard this was a good ferret book, other recommended books and websites would be helpful too.
Cage: Midwest Pets Ferret Nation Double Unit
Ferrets: Adopting 2 ferrets from Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue
Travel Cage: Small dog carrier
Toys: Tunnels, metal cat toys w/ bells, squeaky toys, paper bags, golf balls, cardboard boxes, digging box, ping pong balls, stuffed animals, bins, old jeans/clothing
Bathing: Ferret shampoo or baby shampoo, planning to bath a few times a year
Litter: pelleted- Healthy Pet Dust Free cat litter (cellulose) or Yesterdays News
Heavy ceramic bowl
Securely attached water bottle
Bedding: towels/ cloth/fleece
2 litter boxes
1 hammock (total of 2 hammocks because the rescue gives you one)
Gerber Duck Soup chicken baby food
Diet: Whole prey— getting healthy, humanely killed, mice rats and chicks from The Gourmet Rodent
Questions:
Is a heavy ceramic bowl good when feeding a whole prey diet or if not what is?
How can I switch the ferrets to a whole prey diet from a dry ferret diet?
What is the minimum amount of time the ferrets need out of their cage a day? (I can ferret proof my room and play with them for a few hours I just want to know the requirements)
What should I look for when picking a pair of ferrets from the shelter?
Also, do I need to feed Ferretone or Ferretvite with a whole prey diet?

And, techniques on litter box training them?

How big should a litter box be?

I have just one cat, who is about 3 years old now.

I don’t have a very big one for her now, I don’t have too much space- but could get one a little bit bigger. Do cats prefer bigger litter boxes?

Also, she always burrows in her litter box, and sends litter everywhere. Is this normal for cats? (this is my first cat if you couldn’t tell)

my cat is 14 years old and about a year ago had a urinary tract infection. Because of this she stopped using the litter boxes and began to eliminate waste on the living room carpet. The infection has subsided since but she continues to eliminate elsewhere. My family does not like the smell of the house and have given her 1 week to learn how to use the litter box again..or else. i am keeping her in my room with a litter box and food in an attempt to force her to use the litter box but she still refuses..please help asap.

Why is my cat crapping AROUND the litter box?

My cats have their own litter boxes, but they share each others boxes often. Mainly because I can’t lock them up or watch them 24/7. But over the past few months, I have notices little piles around one of the boxes and a few weeks ago I caught Cleo in the act. I don’t know if it is a territorial thing or reluctance or what, but I am getting really sick of cleaning it up.

The man at Petsmart suggested a new box or new filter and moving the box to see if its just location. He also suggested a obscenely EXPENSIVE litter called CatAttract. I just use crushed corncobs and haven’t had any problems…until recently. They have both been checked by the vet and it’s not worms or infection that he can tell.

I have moved the box and changed the filter and sprayed the old area with repellant. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it may be? Or suggestions? if it is the litter, does anyone have a cheaper suggestion than CatAttract?

I have tried different types of litter and given her 2 litter boxes, one even has a cover. The litter box is in a back room and she has privacy.
This has been going on for about a year now. There are 2 litter boxes side by side.

My cat has ruined 3 pairs of earphones, and 2 phone chargers because she will not stop chewing on them. Also, she has 2 choices of litter boxes, yet still pees on my roommate’s bed everytime she gets the chance.

My roommate is getting very angry with me, and I cant afford to buy her a new mattress pad and phone charger every week. What do i do?

I have two cats and one of them is great with the litter box (9 weeks old). The other cat is 6 weeks old and he’s kind of afraid of the litter box. I’ll put him in it when I see him looking like he’s going to do something and I rush him to the litter box (BTW, I rarely catch him before he does it. It’s either when he’s doing his business or after) but he still doesn’t use it on his own. I’ve heard that two litter boxes help and I am trying that but he seems to just be afraid of it. How do I teach him how to use the litter box?
