I have a 6 week old kitten and she turns her nose up to any kind of food but moms milk. She sniffs it and trys to bury it like it’s cat litter. I had a litter before her and both kittens did the same..They were 7 to 8 weeks old before they would touch solid food and I had to mix solid with can (cat food) gravy. I have a home for this lil girl and the new owners are ready for her but I dont want to send her to her new home with her not eating dry food. What can I do?

My cat (1 year) refuses to eat adult wet cat food. We have tried almost every high quality canned food out there, and he wont eat any of it.
I dont believe that all his nutritional needs are met from dry food alone, and he used to like his kitten wet food.

I live in a small apartment but I travel a lot and since I don’t want the kitten to stay alone I wanna take her with me when I meet friends of travel abroad. I never owned a cat before now and she is slowly settling in. What accessories should I buy for her? I have a bed and a bowl right now but that’s it.

I gave my 3 month kitten handmade cardboard scratching post. But he didn’t like it and loves scratching my husband’s fabric chair. So I bought better quality one with organic cat nip and taught him how to use it couple of times by putting his paws on the board and moving them like scratching(I didn’t use the cat nip because my neighbor advised me not to use it until he becomes 6 month) But he didn’t try to learn it and keeps scratching the fabric chair.
I don’t want to invest in his scratching post anymore, but should I buy him a carpet scratching post? I guess he loves its rough texture…
Or does anyone knows better idea to get him use the cardboard one?
Thank you!

We’ve had her since she was a kitten and she’s 100% an inside cat. Since we put the Christmas tree up, she’s been peeing in front of it. Her litter box is kept clean. Right now we have her locked in a large cage with her litter box, bed & a dish, I don’t know what else to do…

We have about a 11 month old kitten and we have the litter box in the kitchen which I hate but we have nowhere else to put it. So my question is I know I cant change the litter box but is it ok to breathe? When the kitty does his business and it stinks up the whole house(gross) and I smell it cause it stinks up the whole house? And is it bad to clean up puke or feces when your pregnant as well? There has been a couple of times we have accidents with the kitty….
Thank you

My kitten is about 9 months old-she was recently adopted. She is a Manx kitten and is very playful and loving. The problem is that she won’t use her scratching post.
She prefers to use the bottom and sides of my mattress. She will crawl under the bed (so it makes it almost impossible to remove her) and just claw at it. Sometimes she decides to use the top of the mattress so that her paws are actually underneath my pillow when I am trying to sleep. The only way to get her out from underneath the bed is to shine a laser light on the other side of the room.
I have two scratching posts for her. I have tried spraying them with catnip spray. I have tried playing with her toys on the post so she will claw it. I have tried doing it myself to show her. I have tried putting treats on top of the scratcher so she will have to put her paws on it to get the treat I also have tried holding her near the post and scratching her back so that her scratches on reflex. The scratchers are both steady and she is able to stretch her whole body length…if she used it.
When she scratches our chairs, I remove her right away and put her in front of her scratching post. Then she just sits there and stares at it. I really need help…I love my kitty and do not want to get her declawed. I hear that it is so painful for them. I also do not really want softpaws. I want her to be able to scratch her claws freely..just not on my furniture.
Help anyone? Please..

I got home about an hour ago after being gone for a few hours. I got home to find my two cats–mother and daughter–yowling and hissing at each other. This is weird, because they’re basically best friends. The only other time I’ve seen this happen is when I took the kitten to the vet to have her spayed, and when I brought her home, the mother started hissing at her because she thought the kitten was a foreign cat–the kitten still had iodine on her belly from the surgery, so she didn’t smell like she did before the surgery. After a few days of hissing, growling and spitting at each other (first the mother, then the daughter), they were back to acting like friends. But I don’t know what could’ve happened in the past few hours that now has both of them acting like this. Since they’ve both been spayed, it wouldn’t be hormonal. Any other cat lovers have a clue what the deal might be?
The kitten is 14 months old and the mother is probably about 3 years old.
It’s rather warm in my apartment (only a window AC unit) so I’ve put water bowls in different places for both of them–actually, a water bowl for the mother and the toilet lid is up for the kitten. As weird as it sounds, she loves drinking from the toilet.

I want a kitten or a small cat I think my house is big enough cause its a medium townhouse. Im really responceable, I have a small dog so if i got a kitten they could play together.
The kitten would mostly stay up stairs unless it needed to eat.
Thanks.

My kitten and pet rat are the same size. They are both frisky, and bounce around like crazy. How should I introduce them? They have come nose to nose, and are not intrested in each other, but I think they can be great mates.
