Has anyone ever been attacked and killed by a house cat?
I live on a fairly busy road so i dont want to have a cat which goes out because it could get into an accident. Does anyone have good/bad experiences of keeping a house cat?
My cat has been crapping all over the house and throwing up as well, She never use to do it before, we’ve had her for about 6-7 years she is a house cat I cam home today and she had crapped on my bed and thru up on my carpet does anybody know why shes doing it?
Who would win a Raccon or a house cat?
He is about 3 years old and neutered. We have had him for over 2 weeks, and he uses litter box, but watches the door constantly for a chance to run outside, he likes to lay in the sunshine. I think i have given up on him being a house cat and just let him be happy.
Just a random thought. I was watching my house cat assume her normal perch on the edge of my bed last night when I considered whether or not it was a "protective" position. My dog used to sleep in the same place and he definetly went into protection mode while I slept. I know that wild cats are more solotairy animals than dogs- with their pack mentality- yet I know that certain great cats do hunt and live in packs, for example lions. Would house cats have any of the similar pack mentality with their owners that dogs do? I wonder if there are any stories of normal house cats attacking people in "protection" of their owners?
there were two cats in front of my house today, they came from the woods across the street. they look and move like mountain lions, but they are only 2.5ft long, and have the head of a house cat (exactly like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3a/Cat03.jpg/200px-Cat03.jpg one). my mum thinks that they are feral cats, anybody have any better ideas?
I have adopted my 2nd kitty 2 years ago. She was left in front of a pet store. We didn’t know if stray or house cat, but got her. She has problems with my 1st kitty, as well as the occasional habit of peeing out of the litter box. Should I get her adopt a life outdoors? I live in a secure condo complex.
I had a cat and she wasn’t old but not young in the middle ages, and she was outside sitting and then this car drove past picked her up and went away i was really sad, i got another kitten and i want it to be a house cat because i don’t want the same to happen to this one.
Dog’s turn on their owners all the time and attack them. I’m wondering if a house cat has ever inflicted fatal damage on its owner.
This question occured to me the other day when thinking about the difference between dogs and cats. They’ve both been domesticated for about as long. However, untrained dogs will revert to their wild instinct on occasion and attack humans. Cats, which probably still have the same wild instinct as a lion or cougar hidden somewhere inside them, don’t. Why not?
