She has always used the litter box up until about a month ago when I started finding ‘spots’ around the house. She favors the futon in my living room and right in front of the litter box (not in it) Not sure what to do about this. Some people have said it could be because my boyfriend has moved in with me and she feels replaced. I need advice on how to keep her off the furniture and to get her to start using the litter box again.

My friend has not gone to vet school or had any previous training and her feline friend is doing just fine. I am just wondering if this would be the best alternative since I don’t have quite enough money to get Whiskers declawed. She explained to me how she uses a certain sedative so Whiskers does not feel anything, and uses peroxide to prevent any infection. Her cat honestly looks fine, and I am thinking about asking her if she would not mind allowing me to watch Whiskers get declawed, and then I can perform the surgery on my other cats.
