The trip will be about 2 hours to my dad and step-mom’s house. They don’t have any animals in the house but there is a feral cat colony in their barn and nearby woods.
I have a female cat named Gina. I don’t know her age but she is not a kitten. She seems like a young adult cat. Just recently I went to Pet-Co to buy her a brush because she is a stray. So I convince my parents to let me buy it, but she wont let me brush her because she is not used to it.( I got this cat about 2 months and a half-ago) so any ways, I was at Pet-Co and I saw this adorable cat for adoption! His name was Kiko, male, tabby kitten,3 months old, who was sprayed and had all vaccinations. My parents are 54(my mom) and 51(my dad) and they are OLD COOTS! They have no patience and are hard headed and stubborn when I try to explain something to them. So, I ask them if I can keep my stray(Gina) and Kiko. They say no and get mad at me for trying to reason with them. I also wanted both of them to be trained in a litter box and be house cats. Then my mom says no, start yelling at me, and she tells me that that’s gross and it takes too much work. I don’t understand! I told her I would take care of it, I will clean it, throw it out, buy new sand, and all that but still no. I will buy the cat towers for them to play on, food,love, and play with them every chance I have available. Since they said no, I thought about maybe giving away Gina to my friend who wants a cat. So I can give Gina a home, and Kiko a home. I feel bad for leaving Gina because she is an awesome cat but my parents are just too stubborn. How do I convince them to let me have at least Kiko, or both?
Ive tried telling them. As soon as I try telling them the facts they say "I don’t want to hear it" and leave. I try to speak to them but they just tell me to leave them alone. I can’t wait to get the hell out of my house. I CANT DO ANYTHING!!!!

Ok so i have an aquarium (if you call 3 fish and 2 plants in a 5.5 gallon tank an aquarium 
) in my bedroom, with 2 catfish (one channel cat and one yellow bullhead) and a bluegill, possibly a tiny pumpkin seed (we’re not sure yet, hes so small). I put them in the bathtub so i could clean their tank and noticed one of my catfish’s (not sure which one, its hard to tell when there back in the tank) tail was ripped up. it looked like someone had taken scissors and cut sections in his tail, like a sheet of paper. No, nobody in the house would’ve cut her. I’m not sure if both of the catfish are female, we just call them girls. Last night i noticed the tail was healing better, but i want to know what caused this to happen. My dad owns a bait shop and he said that perch’s fins get cut up when they reproduce, but im not sure about catfish. i don’t want to ask my dad cuz he wont tell me, just tell me that shes fine and there’s "nothing wrong with her". that’s why i turn to yahoo answers for these kind of things. PLEASE HELP!!!

I never asked this question before but always wondered why and what it was. She was a 1-2 years, young, hand raised, got her from a pet shop. A green check conure. I also had a cockatiel in a different cage at that time. The cages where in the same room. It happened so suddenly from what I saw (I was maybe 10 or 11) I was in my room when I heard the weirdest scream, when I came out I saw her on the cage floor with her head down, kinda bent to one side, while holding one wing slightly higher then the other one, I had to go to my room them, but I heard the newspapers loudly as well as weird screams. It lasted a few minutes. We held her in our hands, she was okay then but had some head bent moments with weird, softer creams. She was pushing herself closer to whoever was holding her. It wasn’t long before she past away.. RIP<333
Now that I think about it, she did fall off her perch a few times.
I don’t think my dad would have paid for a vet.
The cockatiel was was okay and lived a long happy life, RIP<333
I would like to read up on it and make sure it never happens again.

My friends cat just had five kittens and he wants to give me one. We have three cats, but two never come inside and the other one is really annoying. My dad always says how annoying cats are and how he will never get one as long as he lives. But I have a cat carpet tower thing in my room, and I can keep it in my room til it gets bigger since im gone from 8:30-3:00. We have 3 dogs but one is leaving in july to live with my sister. I know they’ll say no we have to many animals in our house already. I’m seventeen so i can use the little kid cry stuff. Please is there anyway you can think of to help me get the kitten.
well i meant can’t use cry excuse cause im 17. and the cat would be in my room for six hours max. the friend that has the kittens did exactly that. kept them in his room til he got home and he would get back and she would be sleeping. then he played with it til he went to bed. its not in my room all day 24/7 just when im not home. and im home on weekends to. it would have things to go crazy with. And I know if i got it they would play with it to. its just the thought of them having to take care of it that turns them away.
By annoying he means the cat that comes inside. She goes in one door meows non-stop literally til you let her out the next. You cannot pet her if you try she walks away.
My situation:
- Dad loves animals; mom doesn’t. My dad, though, has convinced my mom to let me get a cat; as I really, really, really love cats and dogs. So… in a month or two I’ll be going to the shelter to adopt a cat YES!
But problem is, I’ve never had a pet, so I’m asking you for help. Like what’s the best brand of food, litter type, bed, scratching post, cat perches, treats, toys, etc. Also important things like routine vet visits, and just how to take care of the cat and keep him/her happy overall. My dad has three cats, one who goes a little crazy if left inside for a few days while he travels.
He got a cat door, but raccoons came in.
He then got a cat door that only opened when the cats, wearing collars with magnets in them, stuck their heads in the door. But the raccoons forced it open and got inside. He has since taken it down.
Is there another cat door or any other way we can keep raccoons out?
I have 16 stray/feral cats living in my backyard. They mated a while ago; the kittens are adorable. Yesterday my dad annouced that we either have to (gulp) kill them or catch them and give them to a pound…who will then kill them. I need an alternative (besides keeping them) that will save these cats’ lives! Please hurry, I really am on a timed schedule.
well i have a house cat, we have had him for 3 years now, we got him when he was a kitten. there were 4 kittens in the litter, we took two of them, we found out about 6 months after we got them that the other two kittens in the litter had died from leukemia. Well the othercat we had (princess) was always really energetic, but she never gained a whole lot of weight, and was always pretty skinny, we just figured it was because she was so active. well about a year after we got her, she got real sick, she hardly moved or walked around ,she wwouldn’teat or drink, and she was breathing a little funny. one day she hid under the couch(which was normal for her) but it was a long time and finally my dad lifted the couch up and she was laying under there real stiff, we thought she was dead, but she wwasn’t we took her to the vet the next evening, and we had to put her to sleep.
well shortly after that we had our other cat fuzzy tested for it, sure enough he was a carrier, but it hadn’t affected him yet. well hes always been kinda lazt but he still got some exercise. well yesterday, he hardly moved at all. he stayed in one area pretty much all day. he was breathing alot (46 respirations a minute) and I dont think he ate or drank much (if anything) yesterday or today, he has been the same today, althogh he did go upstair to my bedroom this morning, and it doesnt look like hes breathing as hard. but i couldnt get him to drink anything this morning. I am so worried about him! last night i cried myself to sleep because I dont want him to die. i am so scared he will have to be put down also. ever since princess was put down I have become so attached to fuzzy and loved having him sleep with me, i just dont think I can take it if he dies. do you think theres any chance he will get better?
