O.K. folks, need some help. First off, not going to lie to you, I’m a dog person. I have three large dogs, and one of them is a Roittweiler that has the run of the house. Here’s a little history: The Wednesday before Christmas, on my way home from work I stopped at a gas station and when I came out from the store there was this little fuzzball of a cat sitting beneath my tire crying. Now I am not a cat person, I do like cats but believe they are better suited out in my barn with the pigs and cattle, sorry if that offends. I checked with the station attendant (who didn’t know anything about it) and seeing I was in a warehouse district with no family homes, I took the shivering thing home. I could tell it was well fed and it smelled like it just had a bath. I don’t think it is more than 2, 3 or 4 months old. It’s eating the wet catfood I bought and has no problem using the litter box. The cat adores the Rottweiler and the dog feels the same way. More than once I’ve found them cuddled up together on the couch asleep and have pics to prove it. I am a working person, and have found the cat a good home, but not for 2 more weeks! But, to the problem, so for me to get some work done, and when I go to sleep, or leave the house, I crate the cat in an XL dog crate with food/water, a litter box, couple of cat toys I picked up, and plenty of towels. That’s when the wailing begins! You would think someone is strangling the poor cat! It lasts from anywhere between 20-30 minutes. If I let the cat out, it runs up and perches on my shoulder or stomach and usually falls asleep. Back in the crate the crying begins. Any help would be appreciated on anything I can do to calm the cat down. By the way, I don’t want to leave it loose in the house, not because my dog would intentionally hurt it, but because he is a large dog and can be rather clumsy. Thanks! ~Matt

How do I keep my cat from playing with water?

She plays with her dish and any glass I leave out. She knocks over her bowl and the carpet is always wet. I can’t leave a glass out because she’ll knock it over and has already ruined a remote and several important papers. How do I break her of this? She knows better because she doesn’t do it when I am home, only when I’m gone. Sometimes she paws at her water dish in front of me, but as soon as I get onto her she knows to stop. She also plays with the toilet water and drops her toys inside. It’s no fun fishing cat toys out of the toilet if someone leaves the seat up. HELP!!
She doesn’t tip over her bowl anymore, she just scoops it out I think because when I come home the carpet is wet but the bowl is rightside up and still has a little water in it.

Will this living situation be okay for a cat?

I live in a basement apartment. I would like to get a cat but i’m not sure if it will be fair for an animal to live in a basement. i’m here a lot of the time and there is a window. obviously, i’d have tonnes of cat toys and even a cat tower. the cat would get all of my attention when i’m home. my roomate says the cat would be welcome upstairs with the dog but only when she isn’t home (but i’m not sure if I want the cat to get used to roaming the whole house b/c it might cause later issues). do you think it would be selfish of me to have a cat live down here? Would it be best to get 2 cats for company? or should i scrap the whole idea in general? thanks for any advice

What are these cat toys made of?!?

I really want to know what these cat toys are made of so I can find out how to make things with it, if possible…

http://www.pet-bliss.com/acatalog/ClassicGlitterBallsWithBellSmallImage.jpg

They aren’t spongy or hard plastic. They are made with some soft, clear plastic [kinda like a jelly plastic] that makes them look like they glitter and light can shine through with a bell in the center. I don’t want to use it to make cat toys, I want to get some to make Christmas light covers and bracelets etc. I just need a name of what the stuff is called that they’re made with.
I meant a soft, clear rubbery plastic is what they were made of…
thanks kitty! that’s EXACTLY what I was looking for! Silicone melting crystals!!

Are the feathers on cat toys safe to digest?

Hi,

I would like to know if the feathers on cat toys are safe for cats to eat? I got one from PetSmart and the feathers come off it when my cat bites it. Sometimes she swallows them. Do you think that is safe?

Also, she is a long-haired cat, but she never has hairballs. Her hair is not in her droppings either. I brush her frequently, but all the loose fur does not come out. When I watch her licking herself she may pull out some hair. Usually I take it off her tongue, she does swallow it sometimes though. Do you think the hair is building up in her stomach?

Has anyone heard of Mowy Wowie cat toys?

I found this AMAZING cat toy for my cat – literally she tore the thing out of the package (plastic) and out of a regular brown bag.

The problem is that I can’t find these things ANYWHERE. I found all the other regular cat toys, but they are not Mowy Wowie toys. Now I believe I rememer that they were made here in Minnesota.

I now have another cat who is younger and I’m sure would LOVE these if I could just find them. I used to be able to find them at the local PetSmart or Petco but haven’t for a long time. Not really sure if they make them anymore.

My cat has plenty of toys…only about 1/2 of them are actually cat toys. Some of them are just small soft toys, like a beanie baby out of a claw machine or a small nipper/chipper RCA dog. Almost everyday, he will put one or several of them in his water dish. Then quite often he will take it out of his water bowl and drop it in his food bowl which makes his hard food soft. I wash the ones that he has dropped into his water with the other laundry. When a load of towels was finished drying today, there were 4 or 5 toys also done drying so I tossed them down to him. No more than 10 minutes later one of them was already in his water again! I don’t really mind. It’s amusing really. I have two other cats and they don’t do this. I’m interested in why he does this so incessantly.

I want to sell CAT toys.

According to the stuffed toys act, stuffed toys have to be registered and the registration number gets placed on the content label attached to the toy.

I’m going to be contacting the Department of Labor and Industry (Pennsylvania) on Monday to double check, but I was wondering if this applied to toys for felines.

I’m ready to start selling my cat toys and I want to comply as much as possible. From what I read, it costs per registration and then annually. That’s a lot of money!

If you were curious about the toys, here is a picture:

Thank you for your help.
