Last week, I found a cat and her three newborn kitties on my balcony. She had her babies inside my chihuahua’s tiny dog house. I will be moving May 1st since my lease is up. I will NOT abandon them but she is so protective I am afraid she is going to bite/scratch me. Should I buy a cat carrier to transport all of them to my new house? How do I do this without having her bite or scratch me?
I keep water, milk and dry/moist cat food for her. I know she trusts me because she purrs when I get near me.

I have a 55 gallon tank.?

I love odd things. I used to go mudpuppy fishing, so i plan to put some of those in, but WHAT would they get along with? and what would get along with it? also, i want to go with a planted theme, but LOVE the white gravel/sand. will plants grow in that, or do i need to go gravel with dirt under, or will plants grow regardless? i have tried this tank out a few times, but it seems that every time i get it set up really good something happens and it is all ruined. my first try i had a few angelfish and got one from an old pet store i had been referred to, ended up killing all my fish. the second i had gotten a few of the smaller fish like tetras and neons. power went out for a few days in winter, and bye-bye. the last one i had two perch and some crawfish. my little brother decided to add cat food while i was out of town for a week. it almost instantly clogged all three filters, and when i got home it was a rank mess. i havent messed with it for two years after that. now i want a natural look with mudpuppies. thank you for listening to me ramble on, and for any and all suggestions!

Why is my adult cat eating her litter?

She doesn’t use the litter anymore but I found her munching away at it the other day. Then she was just lying in her basket for two days looking very out of sorts. Today I found vomit near her basket, mostly consisting of cat litter and a tiny amount of cat food. Why is she eating her litter and how do I stop her from doing this?

My cat, highchair, is a ten year old female cat we got for free from a friend whose cat delivered a litter when she was about a four weeks old, and for the longest time, I haven’t been able to find out what kind of cat breeds she has in her?! We know she’s got a pinch of Siamese in her and her mother was a tabby (not really a breed, but…). Anyhoo, here are some pics and measurements and sorry if they’re a little off; I measure her while she was laying down and slightly curled up:

Height from Foot to Shoulder: approximately 13 inches or 1"1 (33 cm.)
Length from Shoulder to Base of her Tail: approximately 15 inches or 1"3 (38 cm.)
Weight: approximately 26 lbs. (11.8 kilograms)
Short and "pug-ish" muzzle
Big, light blue eyes
Pink nose
"Tiger stripes" just in a white, grey, and pinch of pale brown rather than browns

Here are some pictures(sorry for the blue hue on the first, but it’s pretty :D ):

P.S. I know she’s fat and unhealthy, but we’re working on it, she’s been on diet cat food and we’re excising her! I’m doing the best I can on getting her healthy!

She’s VERY intelligent and curious, but at the same time a bit on the lazy side. She enjoys basking in the sun and sleeping as well as chasing strings through the house. She is easily upset by our dogs and other cat but has a docile and calm temperament around us. Her memory is amazing and is fond of holding grudges against people who annoyed her in the slightest sense. She can be vengeful and calculating when it comes to revenge (pooping in the CLEAN clothes because we bought a dog… WHY THE CLEAN CLOTHES?!). She also likes to see what kind of noise something makes when it falls and crashes into a gazillion pieces or how we might react when she does something like toss our car keys into the trash can (she watches us and that’s how we know she wanted to see our reaction). She’s polite, loving, and enjoys curling up on our laps and snoozing for a good half hour, too. :3

It’s a little colony on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. I think they’re mostly abandoned. They do have a little cathouse to live in, and are fed and paid attention to quite regularly.

We went for a visit (and to drop off some food that had been rejected by our own cat) last night, and I started wondering about definitions of ‘feral.’

Their Wikipedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Parliamentary_Cats

Their blog:

http://www.synapse.net/kgerken/CatsBlog.HTM

(photos at each)

Willingness to be petted, regular vet care (inc’l spay/neuter), plenty of cat food, a regular sleeping place with a roof, etc, does not scream ‘feral’ to me. (But I don’t know that they have litterboxes, or any of the softer comforts of truly domestic cats.) There is an entry for them on the Wikipedia "feral cat" page;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_cat#The_Cats_of_Canada.27s_Parliament

but it doesn’t answer my question. Comments?

My baby bird cant stand?

I found a red robin yesterday at the park. It couldn’t walk, perch or fly. He has most of his feathers and eats regularly (Cat food, bits of strawberry and blueberries)
I know he’s at the age where he’s learning to fly because he continuously bats his wings but I’m afraid he’ll hurt himself.
When he "gets around" He pushes his body with his wings and kicks with his feet closed. Is that normal?
Also there are no wildlife reserves or anywhere where they’ll take him. I don’t know what to do with him, who to give him to or if i should return him to his nest.

This bird fell out of the nest, now what?

Yesterday my cat caught a bird and the bird is really tiny like maybe a little bigger than a golf ball.
He’s using both legs fine he’s perching on my fingers and he’s moving his wings around, but i dont know what to feed him,or even what to do with him,we don’t know where the cat got him from so we can’t bring him back to the nest. What should I do? today he seems a little slower like he’s kind of tired we’re trying to feed him cat food the patte kind but hes not eating it.
Please help!
