When I return from my one year deployment my wife and I will be moving from Las Vegas to Germany. She has a cat and is really worried about how the cat will be when she gets shipped to Germany. We’ve went through the vet and the cat has been chipped and will get a blood test (to get cleared for overseas travel) closer to the time we leave, but I am curious… Will the vet give us sedatives to give to our cat during her travel? How long do these sedatives last? Does the cat carrier (with cat) get put in the baggage hold in the bottom of the plane or is there somewhere else in the plane that animals go? If anyone has done this, was their cat the same after such a long move? We’re afraid she won’t be the same (ie. scared all the time, tramatized). Any help from folks that experienced this would be great.

we have a vet appointment in half an hour! I don’t want to force her in and hurt her… I’ve tried toys and even the laser pen but she won’t go in and she knows what’s up with the cat carrier. how can I get her to go in it??

Basically my four month old Rabbit used to do her poo in a cat carrier case, I then cleaned it up, to take her to the vet, and when I came back she doesn’t do it there anymore, and doesn’t on the carpet, basically where ever she wants. She doesn’t chew or bite so she’d be the perfect house-bunny? I’ve tried gathering her feces and putting it all there hasn’t worked yet. 10 points for a good answer!

How much does it cost (about)?
Someone dropped off a kitten today (volunteer place for Friends of Pets, temp shelter thing) and said they thought it had distemper. It was purring and did not seem extremely sick when it arrived. We put it in a cat carrier so it wouldn’t infect the other kittens. Would we be better off testing it for distemper, putting it to sleep, keeping it isolated, or something else?
Thanks for any advice.

The trip is 25 hours straight through and we have to cats with us. we have a cat carrier also. I just need to know how’s the best way to take my bunny home with me.

I am traveling about 12 hrs by car and would like to take my kitten. I don’t have a cat carrier and am wondering if it’s neccesary. What do you do with the litter box? What is the best way to avoid messes? Any advice will be extremely helpful. THANKS!

Hi,
There is a small rabbit in my neighborhood with a small arrow through its back. It looks as though it may have been there a while. It goes in one side and out the other – I beleive it is just passed through the flesh accross its back.
We would like to take it into the wild-life rescue but have no idea how to trap it.
It is small and would easily fit into a cat carrier
Thanks for the suggeston to call animal control or rescue.
Unfortunately – those are not options available in my community.

Its really nice weather today and I was thinking of attatching a cat carrier to the back of my bicycle and taking my cat out for a ride. Has anyone ever done this?? And how did your kitty react? Were they ok with riding around?

I have two healthy, young cats, 1 1/2 years old. When I adopted them, they had all their important shots and de-worming. I haven’t taken them to the vet because it’s nearly impossible to get them inside their cat carrier (I end up with bloody hands!). Since they are young, healthy, indoor cats, is it ok to not get their yearly shots?
