I have two cats. And starting a few months ago, the rug in front of door gets peed on. And I also watched my male cat today pee on my heating pad! Their cat box is clean and they use it regularly. We have ruled out medical issues. Nothing has changed in our household except that I am pregnant. But I cannot imagine that would make them pee on rug and heating pad. Why if they are not sick and they are using their litter box would they continue to pee on the rug??????
So frustrated.

We adopted 2 cats who are both adult cats. Their owners couldn’t care for them anymore, and we said we would take them. They came to our home yesterday and seemed ok at first but as the day wore on, they hid and hissed and growled if we even looked at them. We have tried putting some toys back behind the couch and chair where they are perched, and put a little milk out to try to gain their trust but they have bitten my husband twice, and will actually jump up and attack if we try to reach down and arrange their bedding. I have a 2 and a half year old..and I do not want her attacked. I dont’ want my 11 year old attacked. This is very sad because we really looked forward to getting them and the people we adopted them from said they hadn’t had any problems with them and that they are very sweet and loving cats. Anyone have any suggestions? My thought is to maybe just leave them alone and not bother them..but it is really tempting to want to pet them and reassure them with a soothing voice…
Wow already I have had great answers to my question! I really appreciate the ones so far…you obviously have more patience lol. We have let them hide behind a chair in a corner with a comforter. I guess we just really need to leave them alone and not touch them. I will stop giving them milk…
Thank you so much for all of the answers. It helped me determine a better place to put the cats out of the noise of our family room where they had run to hide after coming to the house. I had not been there or I would have suggested the smaller room! We put them in our laundry room where we have our other cat box and food. In a matter of hours they were more calm, and had stopped hissing when we came in to put laundry in the dryer. I thank each one of you for your information and advice!!! I am hoping that they will adjust even better as the days go on! Our cat is declawed…was when we got him and so are these two. i don’t believe in the practice but I took them in as I didn’t want them being turned loose or taken to the pound.

My male cat Nikita is about 3-4 years old, and was litter box trained. He started recently (a month or two) urinating, and leaving lil "presents" all over in my basement. I don’t understand why he does it, he’s spayed, and the only other cat we have is a female, and she’s neutered. He knows how to use the cat box because I’ve seen him countless times using it. Even if the cat box is cleaned, he’ll still find something somewhere down in my basement to relieve himself on. Why is he doing this? What can I do to prevent him from doing this again?

My cat has 3 babies. She has never been bred with another cat. How? She has 3 small stuffed animals, cat toys. When she is in heat, she cries and cries, especially if she can’t find her ‘babies’. there have been times when I have been up at 2am helping her find them so that she will go to sleep. She cleans them, takes them into the cat box with her, takes them to her food dish, and sleeps with them. Only for a few days, then she goes back to silly self.

Ok, So my sister has a cat trap and she sets it out every night, Outs food in it then waits. Usually in the next hour a cat gets trapped and she calls me. So i take the cat, But I have ben taking cats from her for 10 days in 2 weeks. The big problem is there all Feral and very mean. I will not take them to a animal shelter because even the No kill animal shelters say they wont take them. So im stuck with 10 Feral cats. (there all in big great dane cages don’t ask why i have so many cages) They have cat box food and water, But i cant keep this up. My neighbour says if i cant tame them in the next 2 months he will Report me. Kitty treats wont work. Toys wont work. And if i try and cuddle or touch them they Will kill me, There is 3 unspayed females in one room and 7 unnutured males in my other bedroom. There all about 1-3 years old. So can anyone help me out?.
Oh and I mean they are all in there own cages. 1 cat per cage
People, people, people I AM a Rescuer i have a License to prove it. I Have the money to take care of them. and i really dont like many of you say there not "Tame-able" I have in fact tame 3 Feral cats and now there very sweet cats. I will NOT have them taken to the pound and they will not be killed.
All of these cats have ben sedated and check out by a vet. olny 3 were sick and are on meds. They will all be spayed and nutured in 3 days. Then i will work with them all i need are tips on how to help them.
Thank you Dawnfire I will Email them.

I have had my cat for almost two years, she was fully house trained from the beginning, no problems at all. About six months ago, we got a puppy. After a couple months she started staying outside for days at at a time, finally being missing for a full month. I finally got her back, and will not allow her outside. Problem is, now she is pooping in the house. Her cat box is kept clean. What’s the deal?

he broke his leg about 15 days ago.
he has been pecking at it and now its almost completely off.
i had him in a cat box because the vet said it would be best, but i hoped that putting him back in his cage would make him happier and stop him from taking the cast off…
to sum it up.. i have a few questions:
1.is it ok for the bird to perch with his broken leg?
2.would the vet replace the cast free of charge?
3.would it be best to put him back in the cat box?
thanks so much
