Is there an age limit for declawing cats?

I’ve heard that cat’s can’t be declawed after a certain age. Is this true? And if it is, is there an age limit for tendonectomy (procedure to cut the ligament that extends and retracts the claw)?

And yes I have already tried alternatives–scratching post, orange spray, herbal spray, Soft Claws, etc. She eats the Soft Claws off in a day.
She destroying my living room set, bed, and carpet.
And yes I am aware of the procedure, that’s obviously why I tried the alternatives.

My mom’s cat is very old and has recently urinated on her carpet in the same place several times. She has moved the litter box upstairs so that he doesn’t have to climb the steps any longer. But, she has used the pet store urine smell removers and still the smell lingers. Any ideas?

How do I empty the cat box?

My mom is a senior and getting more frail as she ages. She has two cats and two litter boxes, but she’s having more and more difficulty dumping the cat litter into a plastic bag and then getting it to the curb for garbage pick up. Liners don’t work, besides the bag would still need to be picked up and brought outside. The cat will go on the carpet before using clumping litter. I thought of elevating the box so it could be tilted to empty without having to lift the box, but the cat won’t go for it and the bag would still need to be brought outside.
Any suggestions?

my cats are scared of everything?

I have two ferile cats that are around 3 years old. Ever since we got them, they have spent most of the time hiding in certain places and then coming out only at night
We have to keep the cats in the basement, which is large and we have a big cat playset that they love (and hide in) and we always keep up on food and water and my brothers room is down there so they have him too. this is so that they won’t tear up the carpet and furniture upstairs with their claws.

during the day, the cats only seem to hide under the stairs or in the tunnel in the play set
our one cat, Lucky, comes upstairs sometimes when we let him but he just runs straight to my room, no detours or anything. he only walks up to me, he runs from everyone else in the family and hides under the stairs when he’s in the basement.
our other cat, Eve, will never come near people and if we come near her she meows and runs away to her hiding place, where she will stay for hours and come out only to eat drink and poop, it seems. they have been like this ever since they were kittens and it seems that’s just who they are, but i don’t like it. people would come into our house and never know we have two cats unless we tell them because they are always hiding. how do we get our cats to not be afraid of everything and everyone and just be more social?

(they can’t go outside because they would never come back, as said by the vet)

How to get claw marks out of carpets?

My dogs like to roll around on their backs and they leave "scratch" marks in the carpeting. Vacuuming doesn’t work. I keep their claws clipped (say that 5 times very fast). Will cleaning the carpet help?
I’ve tried vacuuming back and forth over the spots, letting the vacuum sit on the marks, vacuuming in a wiggle pattern. I’ve also tried rubbing them out with my fingers and also with a wet sponge.

Help!

She is about 8 months old and we close our door at night to keep her out. If we didn’t, she would scratch the mattress, knock over things, etc. all night! Every morning when she is ready to eat (which is verrrry early), she scratches at the carpet in front of the door and whines. How can I make her stop?

question about scratching post placement?

i got my kitten a pretty large scratching post the other day {like a house on four legs covered in sisal and carpet}, and i don’t have a spot to put it beside the couch, so i was wondering if i could put it down stairs where i usually spend my time and put it in the corner of the room?, and if he would still use it if i put it there?…it is like a fully finished basement and it would be pretty much right in the room, so it’s not shoved away or anything like that.
thank you, and sorry if my question is confusing.

I found a worm (about 4-6 inches in length) on my carpet about 4 ft. from my catbox BUT also right near a sliding glass door BUT my house is raised off the ground with no soil for 10 ft around it… could an earthworm climb up carpeted stairs or thru a vent, or is it more likely a roundworm? it looked reddish and not segmented that I could tell. Worried about the cats! And myself!
