I was told by some elders that it was haram for me to keep a pet cat in my apartment with me. Earlier today though I was told that it wasn’t haram and that cats are pak (clean) because they clean themselves constantly throughout the day, unlike other animals. I was also told the Prophet (SAW) had a pet cat who rested upon his arm

Is this true? Is it not haram for me to have a pet cat?

I just moved into a room in an apartment, and the radiator is hissing, making clanging noises, and making dripping sounds. It also sometimes smells weird. Is this normal? It’s pretty annoying, the clanging keeps waking me up (My bed’s about a foot and a half away from it, my room’s small). Should I call my super or is it something I just need to learn to deal with?

My cat gets bored at night, and lately it’s been affecting my sleep. She wakes me up anywhere between 3am and 4am playing with wires, so I kick her out of my room. However, she knows the door knob opens the door, so she jumps up and grabs it, making a lot of noise (she actually got in earlier this morning… I don’t know if the door just wasn’t latched or if she actually managed to turn the door knob, which I highly doubt but who knows…)

Anyway, I live in an apartment and I’m paranoid all this noise she’s making can be heard by the neighbors. The last thing I want to do is annoy the neighbors, and I really am tired of being woken up so darn early by a stubborn cat who won’t let me sleep.

I’ve put tape around the door knob, sticky side up, to see if that would deter her. But she still grabs the door knob and it still makes a lot of noise.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there something I can put on the door knob to reduce the noise, like one of those baby door knob covers? I can’t leave the door open anymore because she plays with the wires to my modem, and she actually knocked it over this morning. I’m afraid she’s going to chew the wires or one of these days if something knocks over (my clock, phone, or modem) it will break!

Recently I have found a baby bird in the street downtown. I am guessing the mother had left it or it has fallen out of its nest to be left in the street of the city. Right now I live in an apartment and want to help it but its only a baby. I don’t know what kind of bird it is but It is covered in a lot of brown. I’m guessing that it is a "normal city bird?"

Is there a "specific type" of food that it should be fed? I called up a vet and he said to feed it dry cat food. He said with the cat food, I should wet it until it is very spongy. He said give it to the baby bird with tweezers and give it water with possibly a dropper. Is there any best action I should take so It can rapidly grow stronger? As of right now the bird is in a hamper with artificial nesting from the pet store. It has some bird feed,a piece of bread, and wild bird seeds. I also gave it some perches from the store to hop around on. The pet store lady told me to give it an AVIAN mixture for baby bird hand feeding. It’s also in a transparent hamper with holes in it. So it can breathe very well.

Help would be appreciated very much.

For some reason, I had acquired too many cats to take care of. I was bored thinking of what to do with them when I decided to play Sim City with one.

Specifically, I was working out how to build a train track up the incline of its back and tunnel through the back of it’s shoulder-blade. I was attempting all sorts of crazy terra-forming things on it when i noticed that I had almost severed its paw off and also badly stretched his eyebrow to the point of his eye falling out. I felt bad because although i could delete the train tunnel, I did not know how to restore the rest of him.

This did not seem to cause the cat any pain or distress, but after agonizing over what to do I decided I would have to put him down because he would be a cripple and could never walk with an almost-severed paw.

Suddenly I was standing on one of the old-abandoned downtown streets of my hometown and my parents drove by and handed me a pistol and then drove off. I went looking for the cat but I could not remember where I had left it.

After searching for a while I saw 4 naked fat people (2 guys, 2 girls) running toward this one apartment. One of the women stopped and went back from where she came from to retrieve some kind of sex toy. She was giggling and beckoned me to come with her. I asked "why, what did she want?" and she said "sex, of course" and went on in. I imagined the 4 of them in some sort of wild orgy and decided not to follow. ……..Then I woke up.

Usually, I’m pretty good at dream analysis, but this one is beyond me.

i usually put my foot in her face and firmly say NO! and she’ll back off….sometimes. Other times she’ll just bolt out the door…we are moving into an apartment next week and she wont be able to go outside..shes used to going outside now, so is there anything i could put near the door so she wont go near it?? Our patio will be facing a fence of the back of a store :/….im afraid she’ll jump it and run away…

If you live in an apartment where a cat couldn’t wander around, would it be cruel/inhumane to keep them in a cage? And not like a pet carrier you would take your cat on an airplane in, but like a cage made for a very big dog? Is this cruel? Even if there was room for food/water/toys/even a litter box?

I live in the house I was born in, and I’m taking my three cats with me into apartment living. They have always been indoor/outdoor cats, and they come when I call them. My oldest is 14 and is in excellent health, so I don’t need negative responses about how bad it is for cats to be outdoor I know that they love being outside vs inside, BUT I won’t have a yard for them in my new place. Can you give me some pointers if you’ve done the same? Thanks!

I am 36 weeks pregnant and when i was about 33 or 34 weeks my male cat who is about 4 years old and is fixed started to sit by the front door to my apartment and meow for hours on end what is wrong with the cat? If anyone can help please do this cat is driving me crazy.

My 5 year old cat is used to being able to run around outside, but since we recently moved from a house to an apartment, he has been restricted to indoors only. All he does is sleep all day and has gained weight from being less active. I wanted to know if there are any toys in particular out there that will give a lazy cat the motivation to get up and play. What toys do your cats love playing with?
