I was told by some elders that it was haram for me to keep a pet cat in my apartment with me. Earlier today though I was told that it wasn’t haram and that cats are pak (clean) because they clean themselves constantly throughout the day, unlike other animals. I was also told the Prophet (SAW) had a pet cat who rested upon his arm
Is this true? Is it not haram for me to have a pet cat?
He used to be an indoor/outdoor cat but became an indoor only cat when I got him. I got him cat trees and used to keep the windows open but he figured out that if he leans on the screens they will pop off. His old owners told me that he loved hunting and would bring home a few dead or inured animals home a week.
I would probably make it out of untreated cedar since it has a natural resistance to rot and insects. Does anybody know where I can get some blueprints?
My mother swears she saw a nature program about an artic country (first she said Iceland, then she said the north pole) where the animals are all small. There was a full grown deer a foot high, and these little cats that had kittens up trees. Does anyone know what she’s on about, or has she actually gone mad?

I have an 8 year old female Maine Coon. I will temporarily be keeping a 3 month old kitten for about 1.5 months. I was wondering; what’s the best way to introduce the kitten to make this temporary transition go smoothly?
My Maine Coon, she’s never been fond of other animals. She has been bred once, and she was GREAT to her own kittens. But she has never liked ANY other cats, or dogs.
I was just wondering about some general tips to make this go smoothly. Or any personal experiences!

i am not abandoning them. my dad is makin us get rid of all the pets we have because he doesn’t want the new house to have animals in it anymore. btw the cats are free.
I have a 1-year-old kitty who is totally into my makeup brushes. She will lick them until I make her stop. In my many years of cat ownership, I have never seen this before. Any idea why? My animals all eat Iams cat food, so I don’t think they’re lacking any vitamins or nutrients. Just curious, thanks for your comments.
Besides cats, what animals make hissing noises when frightened? I ask because I was out one night and all of the sudden, I hear the loudest hiss I’ve ever heard in my life, about 5 times off in the trees. I thought it was a cat, because we have a few by our house, but it was too loud and too deep to be a cat. What else could it be?
It is currently 25 degrees, and we’re pretty sure the cat is from a nearby trailer park. My roommates want to take it in, but I’m not sure considering we have no idea where it came from or anything about it. Am I being uncaring by telling them we couldn’t take it in? I was just nervous about any germs/diseases/bugs it might bring into our house and we’re not allowed to have animals in our apartment because of our lease.
