The trip will be about 2 hours to my dad and step-mom’s house. They don’t have any animals in the house but there is a feral cat colony in their barn and nearby woods.

Most cats avoid strangers and aren’t much of lap cats, one of those cats is my favorite Egyptian Mau.
The only cat i know to be very social, loving and loyal is the Savannah but its illegal in NYC.
So what cat breed is warm, isn’t afraid of much things, playful, loyal and is a lap cat and doesn’t hide or hiss at strangers and other animals.

I treated my upstairs bedrooms with Raid- House and garden spray since we have been over run with Spiders as of late. I did everything right. I closed off both rooms, baracaded my 4 cats in the downstairs living room, sprayed the room entirely, opened windows, put fans on, and let it sit for about an hour and a half. The bottle advised me to let it sit for 15 min, but with my animals, i decided to let it go a lot longer to ensure proper drying and ventilating. Well, everything was ok. I the animal poison control line and talked to a lady to make sure it wouldnt harm my cats and she said as long as it was dry things would be ok. My fear right now is, Dahlia- our 4 year old (special) cat LOVES to lick plastic bags at night. I think its comforting to her.I was sleeping last night and woke to her licking a bag that I realized later on was in the room when I sprayed the room. Im fearing that she may have ingested it, if it hit the bag. She doesnt seem sick, but should I be worried?
She is eatting normally, and drinking normally. I dont see any changes in her behavior. She is kind of a loner, so her crawling in weird areas to nap isnt unlike her. Im just worried, shes my baby.

I need a scientific / veterinarian answer, preferrably.

Is the jerking in animals, seen when they stretch or scratch, considered a myoclonic tremor?

Is there a medical condition in humans that would be similar to this involuntary jerking in animals (and NOT be epilepsy)?

Which medical conditions might look the same as this jerking in pets, or have the same causes (other than epilepsy)?

And as a curiosity: Do other animals besides cats and dogs experience this same jerking?

Can my dog and Cat ever get along?

I adopted a Cat several days ago from our local SPCA. I also have a three year old Miniature American Eskimo. The Eski is not rough with the cat, and just tries to give him a good sniff. The cat however, does not approve. The Cat will Hiss and growl…He hasn’t lunged at the dog or anything, but I do want them to get along. Both of them are Males. The dog is Neutered, and the Cat has an appointment to be neutered on Friday. Any help? I tried introducing them by putting the cat in a carrier and then taking him out and letting the dog sniff the empty carrier..That didn’t work!
The cat is actually pretty tolerant of the dog, the cat is VERY laid back. He was just laying on the bedroom floor playing with a toy mouse, and the dog came up and gave him a big sniff, Waffles allowed it too! The dog then got bored and went back out to the living room to be with the rest of the family. I’m just so glad they aren’t ripping eachother apart. I think they will adjust pretty well, the cat is used to being around other animals, because at the shelter I had got him from, they have this huge sort of gym room the cats go in at adoption times (12-4) So he’s used to other animals. I think things will be great.

Alternatives to cat declawing. Your thoughts?

Now before I get a bunch of "Well let me pull out your finger nails and toenails and see how you like it" comments, I’m just asking. I’m not an advocate of torturing animals. Ok? Calm now? Good. So how do you keep your cat from scratching up your furniture? Besides getting a cat scratch post? Just curious.
I like the soft paws thing. It’s pretty cool. The cats don’t seem to mind it I guess? Plus they’re not in pain if they had their claws removed.

My friends cat just had five kittens and he wants to give me one. We have three cats, but two never come inside and the other one is really annoying. My dad always says how annoying cats are and how he will never get one as long as he lives. But I have a cat carpet tower thing in my room, and I can keep it in my room til it gets bigger since im gone from 8:30-3:00. We have 3 dogs but one is leaving in july to live with my sister. I know they’ll say no we have to many animals in our house already. I’m seventeen so i can use the little kid cry stuff. Please is there anyway you can think of to help me get the kitten.
well i meant can’t use cry excuse cause im 17. and the cat would be in my room for six hours max. the friend that has the kittens did exactly that. kept them in his room til he got home and he would get back and she would be sleeping. then he played with it til he went to bed. its not in my room all day 24/7 just when im not home. and im home on weekends to. it would have things to go crazy with. And I know if i got it they would play with it to. its just the thought of them having to take care of it that turns them away.
By annoying he means the cat that comes inside. She goes in one door meows non-stop literally til you let her out the next. You cannot pet her if you try she walks away.

Feral cats taking over my yard…?

We bought our new house in november just down the street from the home we lived in prior. In november the lady that lives behind us excitedly showed me the family of little black kittens living in the pile of lawn furnature behind her shed which backs up to our fence line. It is now the end of March and the cats survived the cold winter. My neigbor feeds them although they live outside and are not allowed in her home. There are a total of seven cats at this point not including her personal cats numbering four. These cats are taking over my yard, they use my gardens as their bathroom and torment my dog. They even sit outside of my patio door right on the step and stare at us while we eat dinner. But worst of all I have three small children who love to play outdoors and I am afraid they will get biten or scratched by one of these cats. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep these animals away from my yard? My township will not come pick them up.
