Should a cat sleep on the bed all night?
Hi
My flatmate lets the cat sleep on the bed somenights, but i think the cat makes me itch because it likes to get high up in the bed.
My flatmate doesnt agree, but i think he should respect my opinion, what do you all think?

If you and your flatmate sleep in the same bed, then yes, you should have a say in where the cat sleeps. However, if you sleep in separate beds, you don’t get a say about the other bed and whether the cat sleeps there or not.
Do you know why the cat makes you itch? Does the cat need a bath, or are you allergic? Are you sure it is the cat that is causing you to itch? You could try freshly laundered bedsheets, etc and find out.
Really, any time two people live together, they have to respect each other’s opinions, but you need to also consider what the cat means to the other person.
It is totally personal preference if you want the cat on your bed or not, if it is making you itchy than you may have an allergy and your flatmate should respect that!
Well if you do have allergic reaction then the cat should not sleep on the bed. I mean what is more important, you or the cat??
well if you have allergies to cat you should find out.. and if the roommate choose the cat over you then you have to deal with it.. ma by the cat is a better bed partner ..
above the blankets only you can catch worms from cats
It sounds like you might have a slight allergy to "Kitty". I’m sure your flatmate would understand if you were to ask that Kitty sleep in her/his own bed.
i think sleeping with a flatmate is strange.
as for the cat, they can sleep on beds, they like being close to us, but if it makes you itch, move the cat, the flatmate or yourself.
Makes you itch because he likes to get high up on the bed…??
I sleep with the cat all night and have no problems, if you were allergic you’d be sneezing and itching ALL THE TIME not only in bed!
Do you sleep with your flatmate? They can do what they want in their bed, close your door if you don’t want the cat on your bed.
if the cat is happy let alone and treat the cat for fleas this may be why you itch. or you may be allergic to the cat if cat was tere frist you will have to adjust or leave.
It would only make him itch if he is allergic (as I am) to dust mites, which are found not only on animals, but in your bed regardless of wether you have any pets or not.
My cats sleep on my bed all through the night and there is no problem.
My cat sleeps with me all night.
