Cats operate with about as much software as a 1985 laptop…I think you’re reading into this behaviour too much.
they’re might be something in there… creepy!
maybe theres mice
Maybe there are mice or other vermin in your air ducts that your cat can sense at night because its so quiet…and it wants to go up there to eat em.
could be he has seen a spirit, my cat has conversations with me and even argues and swears at me, maybe i am not the one to ask
Ever see the movie "Poltergeist"? If not, watch what the dog does early in the movie. Then you’ll have your answer.
there’s probably something living in the walls or vent. or he could be communicating with the undead.
there’s a ghost in there
You might have a mouse. Of course your cat could just be being weird. Mine has been attacking the space between the couch cushions all week.
Because she sees ghosts
could be something moving in your walls or attic.
he wanted your attention. if he doesn’t have a litter box he wants outside.
cats are cats. that’s the enjoyment. they do whatever, whenever, wherever they want. even if you’re asleep and hung over.
It is spring, female cats are in heat, He can smell it and wants out to do his thing. This will last for awhile.
Mice or other critters in the walls.
He might see a bug, or something moving. Or he might want to get in there, or he could want to go outside. My cat meows at the wall and door when she wants to go outside, so try buying a leash and putting him out there for awhile to explore! Cats love the outdoors [well, some do]. Hope this helps you! =]
Perhaps he/she hears mice in the walls?
I’ve had mice in my walls before.
They say animals see things humans cannot. Most likely spirits of some sorts un seeable to the human eye!Make sure to look under your bed before lights!
Sweet dreams…
My cat meows at shadows. Anything that will make a shadow or movement on the wall. They can also hear inside the wall.
Mine also. Loves to just wake me up!!!!
>^..^<
It’s a ghost! I’m just kidding
Cats mostly meow to get your attention (mine certainly does). It’s possible that there are mice in the vent, like the others are saying – but wouldn’t he do it at other times of the day? I think he wants you get up and do something for him.
Unless you suspect a cat is meowing due to some underlying medical reason (and this does not seem like the case), maybe lock him out of your room for a while so you can get some rest. Make a comfortable bed for him in another room if he’s used to sleeping with you. You can’t let him keep waking you up like this!
Unfortunately, experts say the best way to stop excessive meowing when they want attention from us humans is to ignore the cat. That method hasn’t worked for my cat – he’ll just meow until he gets his hugs.
My advice would be to check out the a/c vent to make sure it’s clear, and keep kitty out of your bedroom so he doesn’t wake you up – at least for a while. And see if he meows from outside your door at the same time in the AM – that way you’ll be certain that he just wants you to wake up!
good luck, I know how annoying that can be
Cats are funny creatures. He could see a bug or a piece of dust he can’t reach which is frustrating him. Art Bell (Coast-to-Coast radio host) had a guest a few months ago that claimed that cats can see ghosts. Who the hell knows!
he could be seeing a shadow, if there is a window nearby then the moon light maybe crossing the wall allowing him to see dust particles and other insignificant things of which he would like to hunt or play with
some people believe that cats and other animals have a sixth sense and may suggest to you that there is a spirit or ghost in the wall
however I believe that if it appears that your cat is meowing at the air vent when he possibly may be hearing something that you are not…since it is quieter at night then during the day and since most cats can hear better than most humans -he is probably hearing something that you can never hear and that he can only hear when its quiet at night
like possibly a small rodent climbing through the vent,or maybe he hears the clicking of the ac minutes before it actually turns on…if the apartments or the house is connected through the ac venting system then possibly he is hearing something happening in a completely different part of the buliding or the house
The cat probaly sees the shadow and thinks it is another cat so it will try to attack the shadow…….
might hear sumthing u cant might wanna put rat or rouch posion..makin sure the cat cant get to it tho
Maybe you not believing in ghosts means nothing to your cat. If he sees them, he sees them anyway! On a more non spiritual level though, an insect from outside could very well have got into the a/c vent somehow, and that is what he hears. There could also be a mark of some kind that he is staring at. I know one of my cats does the same thing from time to time, even jumps up to try and catch whatever it is that he sees. I have never been able to figure out just what it is though, so just leave him to it.
