My bedroom has a cat box in it what do I do?
I am four weeks pregnant and live in the house I grew up in. I have had the cat box in my room for the last 6 years or so. I will admit there has been times where the cat box has gone wayyy too long wihout being cleaned. I am afarid I may exposes to toxoplasmosis. Am I at high risk for birth defect already?

Only a new infection puts your baby at risk. If you already have toxo in your system, it won’t hurt your baby. Protect your baby in the future by taking the litter box out of your room. If that’s not possible, clean it at least once a day (it takes 24 hours for the spores to become infective), and use a protective mask from the hardware store when you clean the box just to be extra-safe.
no wtf move the cat box idiot,,,,,,
Get it out of your room NOW!!!!
you only at high risk if you change the cat box and even higher if your cat goes out side… How could you let it go. god that stinks.. i have one in my room and i dont go neer it. my hubby or father changes it 3 times a week and i sweep and keep my room clean.. so if you just keep your room and the box clean and have someone else change it you will be fine.
