My 4 year old daughter got scratched last night by my house cat.?
My 4 year old daughter got scratched last night by my house cat while I was using the bathroom. Now there is two scratches on her face. One is on the forehead and the other goes from her nose and under her eye. They are already scabbing up. I washed it when it first happened and put neosporin on it. Will these scratches leave scars? They are not that deep. I would say slightly deep. Please only help me if you are a dermatologist! Thank You!

It’s all up to chance when itcomes to scarring in this case. I have numerous cat scratches and some scar some don’t. There nothing to worry about as far as diseases and if it does scar get some scar minimizing cream if it’s really bad.
I’m not a dermatologist, but i’m a Clinical Rotations Student, in the run of becoming a doctor in emergency medicine.
My only concern is that if the cat has rabies… As long as the cat has had its shot, then there is nothing to worry about infection. I wouldn’t worry about the scabs, I think your describing an abrasion, which is just skin peeled off, like for example how you may run your knee against cement on the sidewalk, that’s called an abrasion. It’s not that bad. As long as she doesn’t pick on them, she should be fine healing. But let it heal, they might leave a minimum scar, but not too bad.
