I believe you have already answered your own question about the possibility of having a cat post for the great outdoors. You're right when it comes to weather conditions. You would have to do some re-designing in order weatherize the cat post.

In-door/out-door carpet would do the trick for the platforms and towers. This type of carpeting is reasonably priced. Check for sales. Sounds like you would like to purchase the cat post with the wood section, so that would solve part of the problem. If you get the one with sisal, the weather shouldn't hurt that part. So there you have it and you are now a designer to boot. Maybe you could get a patten on your re-design. Hay, now you're giving me some ideas! Bet i could beat you to the patten office! ...... ...... Don't know about you, but here I go! OOPS! there goes my humor again.

I have to agree with you on expenses. The price keeps going up. How about another suggestions. You could purchase one of those long tunnels for your cats. Looks like they could have some fun running thru and chasing each other and you wouldn't have to worry about the weather. You could also consider some of the smaller play items they have for cats.

You're either going into the re-designing business or come up with another idea.

That's all I can come up with for you and your cats. Will probably wake up in the middle of night thinking about cat toys and patten numbers.

Your cats must really love you with all the time and effort you give to them. Good luck with your adventure.
