My cat is at home alone all day everyday. She seems fine by herself, i make sure she has plenty of toys, food, water available to her. I give her lots and lots of attention as well, whenever i am home with her.
just get him planty to stay busy… cats are good on their own… if it is being destructive then yes a playmate might be a good idea…
why not get 2 kittens at the same time so they can keep each other company? it isn’t absolutely necessary, but i think it makes for a happier cat. how would you like to be ALONE totally for 6 hours out of every day? i have 9 and while 9 is not for everyone, they all love each other, sleep together, and keep each other company when i am not here
a lot of cats are solitary, so see what happens when he is left without a companion, and when you come back, if he runs to you, he might have been lonely. if he is asleep or is just sitting around, he was probably fine.
I dont think that cats mind being alone, it will probably just sleep when you are gone.
He will probably be asleep most of the time. Get it a few toys. They love scratching posts and your bed.
