My cat does the exact same thing, except we have a whole bedtime routine. I always ask her if she’s ready for bed and she’ll run into my bathroom and jump on the counter and sit there and watch me brush my teeth and wash my face (because, of course, I couldn’t manage to do it without her!) Then I carry her to my bed and she goes crawls under the covers and turn around and sticks only her head out. When she sleeps she drools and snores! One time after an earthquake at 3 AM I fell asleep with her on my chest and woke up with her still on my chest, only she was under my night shirt with her head sticking out from under the collar and it was nuzzled up under my chin. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.
My cat does the same thing! She goes under the blankets, turns around and comes back up, puts her head on the pillow and curls up right next to me with her body under the covers! So cute! We are truly blessed with our cats.
i own 6 cays and they all have their own favorite area. angel likes to be by your feet, cali likes to be by the back of your knees, maur likes your back, satsuma likes the floor right near the bed, neville likes the chair next to my bed and ivess likes to sleep by the neck with one paw around my arm. i love cats! they are so sweet
I pull the blanket up over my head and read using a halogen light to give me a small spot of light in the corner of the bed. My cat sneaks up on the rail of the water bed and peaks around the edge of the blanket to see if my eyes are open. If I’m not moving, she will lie either on my arm or on my book under the spot light. It’s very funny to watch. She also likes to sleep under the blankets, but likes to sleep next to my belly.
My cats sleep with me under the covers right next to me and I hug them .. it’s to cool it’s like there trying to get into your skin I just love it .. sometimes they sleep on my chest ..
my Lacy sleeps next to me, but the covers can only touch her tail. I can lay hand on her, but not my arm. she will also lay on my pillow. its 20 lbs of fur in my face. then rizzo my other always lays at my feet. unless she wants attention then he will sleep next to my husband. i always tell him he is the luckiest man in the world to have three beautiful ladies in the bed with him all at once.
My cat slept at my left shoulder for 18 years.
She woke me in the middle of nightmares.
It was quite deliberate. I’d wake up and find her standing quietly on my chest — although she’d have gone to sleep at my shoulder. She’d woken me because she knew I was distressed.
Also, when I had major surgery and was sent home to recover, she didn’t leave my bed or my room for two weeks. My doctor says she played a major part in my recovery.
So, I didn’t just look after her. She looked after me too.
Whenever my cats sleep with me, they sleep near my feet. I think what is happening in your case is perfectly normal.
My cat is definately not a "people kitty." But when she is feeling friendly enough to sleep near people, she likes to curl up at the end of the bed. Though, once I acutally woke to find her on my head! Another time when I was sick, she slept on my knees. I love my kitty so much, but you’re lucky to have such a social cat that she likes to be your teddy bear!
She sleeps right in the middle, on top of me. I sleep mostly on one side or the other, and as long as I don’t move, she will sleep until I do. She and her sister were rescued just shortly after birth by a vet tech on her way to work, and they were hand-raised by a friend of mine, who always held them (when home) until they were old enough to hold their own. Together, sort of. My friend kept the other. And I couldn’t resist my little tiger. She and my older male cat get along famously.
My cat does the same thing! Usually if your cat loves you very much, and knoow it’s treated right, it will learn to love sleeping with you. It’s very natural. It depends on the cat whether it sleeps at the end of the bed or near your head. For my cat, it usually depends on where my cat feels like sleeping.
