i need help with my crazy cat!?
my cat "talullah" (who is a calico) just learned how to jump on our kitchen counters! and she is driving me insane! she not only learned that she also jumps in the widows to ruin the blinds, jumps in my 2 month old sons crib and bassinet to just play in it and attacks our heads!! she get enough attention, she has lots of toys, she has a very tall cat tower that goes to the celing and has plenty of food and water….what do i do i need help!!!! i dont wanna get rid of her cause i know no one will take her and even though she is a trouble maker we love her to death when she actually behaves (usually when shes sleeping)
things ive tried..
-spray bottle……….FAIL
-aluminum foil……….FAIL
-coins in a can………FAIL
-a few spanks on her thigh…….FAIL
ps. she is 4months old and not spayed yet
i have been a cat owner since i was little and all were tabbys and boys…and my boys have never been this out of control when they were kittens haha

It’s a phase and she will grow out of it…I promise. Try playing with her even more using interactive toys that will really get her running and tuckered out. My cats’ favorites are a feather wand toy (called DaBird) and a laser pointer.
You cant really do much. She is a kitten. Kittens play and they just want to have fun and be played with. If she is sleeping a lot in the the day try and keep her up that will make her more tired at night. Try to get her a box to jump in and play cats like boxes and bags(not plastic bags) the blinds my cats ruined ours so we got curtains and put something in our windows. I cant give a lot of help because we use aluminum foil. But just remember she is still a kitten and she just wants to play. In time she will calm down she will also be a little more mellow after she id fixed:DD Good luck!
You can try Ssssscat!, which is an aerosol spray can that starts hissing when the cat jumps on the counter. Also, provide lots and lots of toys. I bet she’d love a tall sisal cat scratcher or one of those jungle-gym sets you assemble from different kits (they’re made of nylon material and plastic instead of wood and carpet so are more affordable). You can also try Feliway difuser, which uses synthetic pheromones to help calm cats- the evidence is purely anecdotal but I got desperate with introducing my new cat to the others and purchased one a few days ago.
If she is truly destructive and out of control and is older than 1yr, there are pharmaceutical options that your vet can provide. Most old-school vets are less open to the idea, but I give clients that option if they are truly at their wit’s end. I do think that a cat that is 4 months old is likely just being a crazy kitten- calicos can be quite sassy
Once you spay her, it will not necessarily calm her down, but the last thing she needs on top of everything else is hormones that will keep her yowling into the night!
She’s four months old, she’ll calm down with age, she’s only a kitten and very excitable, you can continue with the spray bottle and coins in a can but to be honest all cats go through this stage at that age….it’s the same story with a puppy or even a toddler…they all go through their excitable phase.
If you love her then you’ll just have to find a way to live with her behaviour until she grows out of it I’m afraid.
I’d strongly advise keeping her out of the baby’s bedroom/bassinet though!

you should try to get her spayed and also she is young so she will want to play a lot.
Get her fixed. It will calm her down. Maybe not 100%, but it will help.
I recently got a book on cat behavior (Cat vs. Cat) and she recommended something called "sticky paws" to put on the counters. It almost sounds like a double-sided tape of some sort. I gather they won’t like it. That’s not going to make her stop jumping in the crib or on your heads, tho!
Try and play with her as much as you can.
She’s a kitten. She’s going through her version of the terrible twos where she gets into everything and drives you nuts. Get her spayed as soon as you can; that will help a bit. In the meantime, play with her as much as possible (that Da Bird toy is great for wearing out a hyper kitten). Kittens at this age have two speeds; warp nine and dead asleep.
Try hissing at her when she does something she shouldn’t, my boy is wild as well and nothing worked, but this is helping.
Also even though I haven’t tried, some people put double sided tape on the places where they don’t want the cat – they hate to walk on it.
