I’ve had my cat for 6 years and love her dearly but she is so mean to anyone that comes in the house including other animals, she don’t play like most cats and even with me one minute your petting her and she wants all your attention next minute she growls at you like a dog. Funny but I have a 7 year old Calico that is the same way. My husband and I adopted her from the pound at 8 weeks old. She was so cute and was so friendly…until we got her home! We did not have anyother animals at the time either. Yes, I had her declawed after I was advised to do so by my vet, she was 12 weeks old at the time and almost found herself back at the pound because she was just that mean. Over time and with a lot of love, attention, and knowing when to back off, she has gotten better but she will still growl and still bite as she did when she was 8 weeks old. My best advice is to just give her space, don’t push her and love her when she wants attention. That seems to have worked best in my household! Good luck and don’t give up!:)
hey… go to your doctor and ask him to remove the tips of your fingers and toes.. then see what your own mood is like when you have to dig in a litter box.
Give her lots of cat nip…. sorry. Is her name Sybyl by chance? lol
try positive and negative reinforcement. If she bites or hurts you/someone else, punish her. NOTE: you shouldn’t hit your cat, especially if you never have; she won’t know what’s going on and it can have an opposite affect. Try spraying her with a water bottle or other simple humane ways of punishment.
when she is cuddly or acting nice, give her cat nip or a tarter treat. It tastes good and cleans their teeth. Greenies are a popular brand of tarter control treats.
why don’t you try leaving it alone. it obviously doesnt like you
You have let the behaviors go on for 6 years? You will need to do a lot of positive reinforcement like Ken suggested. It will take a long time to make and sustain a change in cat behavior. Do not permit the biting use a stern voice say "no" and move her away from you.
Pit pulls do not attack if they are properly trained and cared for.
Well declawing certainally helped didn’t it? NOT – declawing made your cat meaner and since it has no claws for defense it has to resort to biting more.
You’ve more/less ruined her and she will never be nice any more.
