I caught my cat licking my bananas, are there harmful pesticides on the outside of a banana peel?
And if there are, if i wash the outside will my cat be safe to lick them?

Hi there,
I had a Siamese cat that was bonkers over bananas. He loved them, and he would always try to steal some of mine. I gave him some small pieces as a treat, and that made him into a very happy kitty. It has great fiber and is perfectly fine and safe for a cat. He also loved cantelope mellon.
I wouldn’t think that banana peels are very appetizing, but peeling the banana and giving him a few small pieces is quite safe and will not harm him. But if you are worried, keep your bananas covered safely prior to peeling them.
Hope this helps,

You have GOT to be joking!
Cat licking banana?
Thats as crazy as a cat EATING a pumpkin!
Back to serious ness…
Um well gee…
I dont THINK so.
In the future, wash your fruits RIGHT when you bring them home. Then your cat can lick galore!
I dont think it can die from one little banana tho…
it’s not armful usually, but wash them if you really wat to be sure. some farms spray more pesticides than others so unless you can find out about where you buy yours from, i would wash them
There are fungicides on all bananas no matter where in the world they came from. I wouldn’t let the cat lick them washed or not!
