How would I go about litter box training my ferret?
He’s 6 months old, and I want to litter box train him so it’ll be easier. I heard that box like litter boxes are better but first I would like to try with a triangle corner litter box. How would I do this, and how long would it take? I’ve already put his poop in the litter box, but that doesn’t work. Would you suggest just getting a square one instead? Please & thank you.

Remember all ferrets are different. Some ferrets will use litter boxes; some of them won’t. I tried for a while to train him to use litter boxes. But I ended up having newspaper in a corner instead. I think that he uses that instead of the box because when they walk backwards before they go to the bathroom they don’t want to have to step over something. If you can’t get him to use a litter box just try newspapers. It worked really well for me! Also, if you see a poop where it’s not supposed to be. Don’t go stick his nose in it; he won’t understand because it was after the fact. If you catch him in the act then after he’s done just gently hold him on his back on the floor, after a while he’ll understand. But if he goes where he’s supposed to make sure you congratulate him and give him a treat!! Mine’s so well trained now that he actually waits til I’m in the room so he can show me where he goes potty so he can get a treat. It takes a while to train them. And they are much harder to train when they’re younger. But if you train them consistently they will learn after a while. Good luck!
This is what I did for training my little fuzzbutts-
